A method of coating plastic substrates involves applying an aqueous coating composition to the surface of a plastic substrate and allowing the coating composition to dry and form a film. The coating composition contains an aqueous polyolefin dispersion and an aqueous polyurethane dispersion.

Method of coating a plastic substrate with an aqueous coating

Aqueous coating compositions containing an aqueous chlorinated polyolefin dispersion and an aqueous polyurethane dispersion are disclosed. These coating compositions are particularly useful for coating plastic substrates. A method of coating plastic substrates comprising the use of these coating compositions and a coated plastic article prepared by the above method are also disclosed.

Aqueous coating composition for plastic substrates

A coated article having improved chip resistance and a method of providing such a chip resistant coated article are disclosed. The article includes a metal substrate, a coating layer of an elastomer-modified epoxy derived from a polyepoxide and from 5 to 35 percent by weight of a functionally-terminate diene-containing polymer, and a carboxyl-functional material having a carboxyl-functionality of at least two such as a carboxyl-functional polyester, a carboxyl-functional acrylic polymer or a di- or polycarboxylic acid, and at least one additional coating layer having a different composition than the elastomer-modified epoxy containing layer.

Chip resistant coatings

The thermosetting powder coating composition which has good stability and gives good physical properties, such as exterior durability, appearance, flexibility, hardness, solvent resistance and corrosion resistance, is disclosed. The composition comprises a co-reactable particulate mixture of a carboxylic acid group-containing polyester and a beta-hydroxylalkylamide.
