A cosmetic composition providing a unique tactile sensation comprising about 0.1 to about 10 wt. % of a nonionic emulsifier; about 0.1 to about 10 wt. % of sodium polyacrylate; about 0.5 to about 15 wt. % of aluminum starch octenylsuccinate; about 0.1 to about 20 wt. % of a fatty phase that is a liquid at a temperature of 25° C. or more, the fatty phase comprising one or more fatty compounds; and water, wherein the cosmetic composition is an oil-in-water emulsion and all weight percentages are based on the total weight of the cosmetic composition. The nonionic emulsifier includes at least polyglyceryl-3 methylglucose distearate. Methods for treating damaged skin with cosmetic compositions are also disclosed.

Cosmetic composition providing unique sensations

A cosmetic composition may be utilized to provide improved wear and transfer resistance. The cosmetic composition may include a (i) hydrogel dispersion in oil, the hydrogel having an ethylenic polymeric core, as well as (ii) a transfer-resistant film former, (iii) a hydrophilic active agent incorporated into the ethylenic polymeric core, or (iv) both (ii) and (iii). The dispersion may include a plurality of ethylenic polymeric core particles dispersed in a fatty substance that is liquid at 20° C. and 1 atmosphere that also includes a polymeric stabilizing agent.

The present disclosure relates to an aqueous micellar liquid composition that include an amphoteric surfactant, an alkyl glucoside and a specific preservative system. The present disclosure relates to compositions that protect the skin and hair from extreme heat (external thermal flux). The compositions include: (a) laponite; (b) one or more UV filters; (c) one or more emulsifiers; and (d) water. The compositions are useful in cosmetic, industrial, and military technologies. For instance, the compositions are useful in methods for protecting skin from intense external thermal flux (e.g., fires and explosives). When applied to the hair, the compositions are useful in methods for protecting the hair from heat damage caused by, for example, hair dryers, curling irons, straightening irons, etc.
