A composition for the treatment of acne includes hydrolyzed, containing a component bakuchiol, is solubilized in a water-based solution. The composition is for topical application to the skin. In various implementations, the composition is a water-based acne gel or a water-based cleanser. In a specific implementation, a composition includes Bakutrol™, which includes bakuchiol, and bisabolol. The composition can include a polysorbate surfactant. In implementations, these ingredients are combined with other active ingredients, including for example, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, tretinoin, retinol, tazarotene, or an antibiotic, or a combination of these. A process of preparation of the composition allows for the stabilization of Bakutrol in solution.

Several embodiments disclosed herein relate to formulations having antimicrobial and/or sanitizing effects, and uses of the same. In particular, the formulations and methods of using same provide, in several embodiments, an immediate and a persistent antimicrobial effect against a broad spectrum of microorganisms.

Topical sanitizing formulations and uses thereof

Disclosed is a composition that begins as a multi-phase structure including a plurality of immiscible liquids that, upon agitation, encapsulates and suspends one of the plurality of liquids (e.g., in spheres). In some embodiments, the composition includes a water phase and an anhydrous phase. The composition can include a thickener added to the water phase to allow the water molecules to encapsulate the anhydrous phase into spheres. The formed spheres are stable and can be configured to last for specific durations depending on modifications to the formula. In some embodiments, the spheres can release back into the multi-phase structure after a specific period of time. The formulations disclosed herein can act as a vehicle or a base formulation to which additional ingredients can be added. The disclosed formulation, in addition to enabling the intermixing of two immiscible liquids, can provide a number of additional benefits.

A multi-functional, foaming male shaving product comprising of (i) a surfactant blend consisting of an alkyl isethionate and a glyceryl alkanoate, wherein the ratio, by weight of alkyl isethionate to glyceryl alkanoate is between 5:1 to 8:1, (ii) a copolymer of acrylamide and iallyldimethylammonium chloride; (iii) a combination of a yeast extract, an algae extract, an extract of, and glucosamine hydrochloride; and (iv) a continuous self-foaming agent containing a volatile hydrofluoroether.
