A treatment composition and a method for treating substrates that includes contacting at least a portion of the substrate with (a) an alkyl polyglycoside or a derivative of an alkyl polyglycoside; and (b) a polysaccharide, a modified polysaccharide, a derivative of a polysaccharide or a derivative of a modified polysaccharide is provided. A treated substrate is provided that when used in a personal care product like a diaper and in such a way that the substrate is not in direct contact with skin promotes skin dryness.

Composition and method for treating fibers and nonwoven substrates

The present invention relates to a composite material including a substrate with a first and a second surface, a boundary layer which is comprised of one or more compositions, and a topical application. The boundary layer is applied on the first surface of the substrate, and the topical application is applied to a surface of the boundary layer opposite of the substrate. Transfer efficiency of the topical application is enhanced as the transfer forces necessary to separate the topical application from the boundary layer are lower than the transfer forces necessary to separate the substrate from the boundary layer.

An apparatus for evaluating a material is provided. In one aspect, the apparatus is an adjustable artificial arm for transmitting fluid into the material. An artificial skin, for example, is removably attached to the artificial arm, and the material is placed over the artificial skin. The evaluation apparatus includes a simulated body part having a simulated skin substrate. The material is placed proximate the simulated skin substrate, and a predetermined amount of simulated physiological fluid is insulted into the material at a pre-measured location. After a predetermined time, the simulated skin substrate is removed from the body part and fluid loss measurements are taken.

The absorbent article may also include a ventilation layer between the absorbent body and the backsheet and a surge management layer between the absorbent body and the topsheet. The article exhibits improved air exchange within the article during use. As a result, the article exhibits substantially reduced levels of hydration of the wearer's skin when in use which renders the skin less susceptible to the viability of microorganisms.

The absorbent body may include multiple zones of high air permeability. The absorbent article may also include a ventilation layer between the absorbent body and the backsheet and a surge management layer between the absorbent body and the topsheet. The article exhibits improved air exchange within the article during use. As a result, the article maintains the temperature and exhibits substantially reduced levels of hydration of the wearer's skin when in use which renders the skin less susceptible to the viability of microorganisms. The absorbent article may further include lotion formulations and/or treatment compositions thereon for maintaining or improving skin health.

Bonded fluff structures and a method for producing such bonded fluff structures in which a pulp sheet having a material suitable for producing fluff and a heat activatable fiber material is fiberized to produce a mixture of fluff and heat activatable fibers. The mixture is contacted with a hot air stream, heating the heat activatable fibers to an activation temperature. The resulting heated mixture is then deposited onto a forming structure, forming a bonded fluff/fiber composite matrix structure.
