Aspects and embodiments are generally directed to modular imaging spectrometer assemblies and methods of operation thereof. In one example, a modular imaging spectrometer assembly includes foreoptics to receive electromagnetic radiation and produce a real exit pupil, the foreoptics having a first f-number, a first imaging spectrometer to receive and disperse the electromagnetic radiation into a first plurality of spectral bands at a first image plane, the first imaging spectrometer having a second f-number independent of the first f-number, a second imaging spectrometer separated from the first imaging spectrometer, the second imaging spectrometer to receive and disperse the electromagnetic radiation into a second plurality of spectral bands, the second imaging spectrometer having a third f-number independent of the first f-number, and at least one slit aperture positioned to receive the electromagnetic radiation from the real exit pupil and direct the electromagnetic radiation to the first and second imaging spectrometers.

Modular imaging spectrometer assembly and method

A hyperspectral calibrator comprises a composite light source disposed within a housing and including an ultraviolet light emitting diode (UV LED) and a phosphor arranged such that a first beam generated by the UV LED is transmitted through the phosphor to produce and emit a calibration beam that is spectrally continuous over a wavelength range extending from 0.4 &#x3bc;m to 0.7 &#x3bc;m, the housing having an output opening and configured to direct the calibration beam emitted from the composite light source to the output opening to produce a calibration beam at the output opening.

UV LED-phosphor based hyperspectral calibrator

Calibration devices, systems, and methods for calibrating a sensor. In one example a calibrator includes a housing, a dual-axis mirror positioning mechanism disposed within the housing, and a single calibration mirror coupled to the dual-axis mirror positioning mechanism and disposed within the housing, the dual-axis mirror positioning mechanism being configured to rotate the calibration mirror about a first axis to move the calibration mirror from a stowed position into a deployed position and, when the calibration mirror is in the deployed position, to rotate the calibration mirror about a second axis into a plurality of calibration positions, the first and second axes being orthogonal.

Optical calibrator, calibration system, and method

Dual-pupil, dual spectral band wide field-of-view re-imaged refractive optical imaging systems. In one example an optical imaging system includes a dual-band front objective lens group configured to receive electromagnetic radiation over the field-of-view of the optical imaging system, to form a first pupil, and to direct the electromagnetic radiation through the first pupil, the electromagnetic radiation including first and second non-overlapping spectral bands, and the field-of-view spanning at least 45&#xb0;&#xd7;45&#xb0;, and a re-imaging refractive optical sub-system configured to receive the electromagnetic radiation via the first pupil, to form at least one intermediate image plane, and to focus the electromagnetic radiation via at least one second pupil onto at least one final image plane to form a first image from the first spectral band and a second image from the second spectral band. A beam deflector can be positioned proximate the first pupil to expand the field of view.

Dual-pupil dual-band WFOV re-imaging optical systems

One or more embodiments of an optical system includes a primary mirror configured to reflect light incident thereupon; a secondary mirror facing the primary mirror configured to receive the light reflected from the primary mirror and redirect the light reflected from the primary mirror in multiple channels; and one or more tertiary mirrors of common prescriptions, configured to reflect divergent light rays incident from the secondary mirror in multiple channels.
