A system can include one or more content distribution sites to provide content to one or more content satellite offices for delivery toward a set of destination devices for display. A content distribution site, of the one or more content distribution sites, can include one or more streamer devices. The one or more streamer devices can be associated with a single spoofed Internet protocol (IP) address. The spoofed IP address can facilitate failover among the one or more streamer devices. The one or more streamer devices can be configured to provide the content toward the set of destination devices using multicast with forward error correction (FEC). A content satellite office, of the one or more content satellite offices, can be configured to subscribe to a multicast group associated with the one or more streamer devices. The multicast group can be associated with the spoofed IP address to facilitate the failover among the one or more streamer devices.

Content stream integrity and redundancy system

A system can include multiple content ingress sites to process content into portions of content. A content ingress site, of the multiple content ingress sites, can include a first set of devices. The first set of devices can be configured to process the content in a synchronized manner. The first set of devices can be configured to have excess processing capacity to facilitate failover of a first segmenter device to a second segmenter device. The first set of devices can be configured to process content from multiple sources. The system can include multiple content distribution sites to encode the portions of content. A content distribution site can include a second set of devices. The system can include multiple content satellite offices to provide the portions of content to one or more destination devices. A content satellite office can include a third set of devices.

Content streaming redundancy architecture

Systems and methods present to a user a single option when multiple sources (such as recording, on-demand, live airing, etc.) of a video asset exist in aggregated universal program information. The systems and methods compare metadata from asset variants along with user profile data to identify which option will provide the best user experience for the selected video asset. The systems and methods simplify the user experience to avoid forcing the user to choose between multiple options.

System and method for providing default selections among aggregated universal program information

A device can receive, from a user device, a request for content in a target format for playback. The device can determine information identifying the content in a source format based on the request for content associated with the target format. The device can request the content in the source format using the information identifying the content in the source format. The device can receive the content from a content source in the source format based on requesting the content in the source format. The device can convert the content in the source format to generate a set of files associated with the target format. The device can provide the set of files in the target format to a content delivery network associated with the user device.

An exemplary method includes an automatic media summary creation system analyzing presentation data of a media program that includes at least one of an audio component and a video component, generating, based on the analyzing of the presentation data of the media program, a set of text data, selecting, based on an attribute of the media program, a predefined media summary template from a group of predefined media summary templates, and automatically generating a summary of the media program by using the generated set of text data to populate the selected predefined media summary template. A system receives one or more content streams for a program including a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) Live Streaming (HLS) master manifest file for the program, HLS media segments having different bitrate variants, and HLS media manifest files for each of the different bitrate variants. The system encapsulates the HLS master manifest file, the HLS media segments, and the HLS media manifest files into Internet Protocol/User Datagram Protocol (IP/UDP) packets and sends the IP/UDP packets via multicast to video serving offices. Network devices in the video serving offices extract from the IP/UDP packets the HLS master manifest file, the HLS media segments, and the HLS media manifest files. The network devices send to a cache device the HLS media segments and the HLS media manifest files; and forward the IP/UDP packets via multicast to devices in customer premises.

In embodiments, apparatuses, methods and storage media are described that are associated with performing identity-based access control for content. A content consumption device may be configured to control access to presented content based on identities of one or more content consumers that are physically proximate to the device. The content consumption device may be configured to perform facial and/or voice recognition on one or more content consumers to determine an identity for the one or more content consumers. The content consumption device may be configured to determine access permissions for the identified content consumers. At various times, access to a piece of content may change based on who is physically proximate to the content consumption device. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

In embodiments, apparatuses, methods and storage media are described that are associated with training adaptive speech recognition systems ('ASR') using audio and text obtained from captioned video. In various embodiments, the audio and caption may be aligned for identification, such as according to a start and end time associated with a caption, and the alignment may be adjusted to better fit audio to a given caption. In various embodiments, the aligned audio and caption may then be used for training if an error value associated with the audio and caption demonstrates that the audio and caption will aid in training the ASR. In various embodiments, filters may be used on audio and text prior to training. Such filters may be used to exclude potential training audio and text based on filter criteria. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

In embodiments, apparatuses, methods and storage media are described that are associated with content distribution. In embodiments, one or more frames may be displayed on a display, and the frame or frames with the highest luminance level of those frames may be identified. A camera may be configured to capture an image at a point in time based at least in part on display of the frame with the highest luminance level. In some embodiments, the luminance level of the frames may be identified based at least in part on analysis of the frames by a device prior to display of the frames. In other embodiments, the luminance level of the frames may be identified based at least in part on the receipt of luminance data from a server.
