An information processing apparatus includes a feature extraction unit that analyzes a video to extract a feature element, a discriminating unit that, based on a difference in the feature element for each of multiple portions of the video, performs discrimination that discriminates between an explaining scene and an explained scene, the explaining scene being a scene providing explanation, the explained scene being a captured scene of what is explained in the explaining scene, and a categorizing unit that categorizes each portion of the video based on a result of the discrimination.

A display-information generating apparatus includes a shooting-area acquisition unit, an arrangement deriving unit, and a generating unit. For each of multiple imaging apparatuses, the shooting-area acquisition unit acquires information about a shooting area of the imaging apparatus. The arrangement deriving unit obtains a three-dimensional arrangement of the shooting area on the basis of the information about the shooting area. The three-dimensional arrangement is obtained when the shooting area is viewed in a three-dimensional space. A teleconference system includes an audio data receiving section, a group information holding section, and an audio controller. The audio data receiving section receives audio data obtained by multiple terminal apparatuses of multiple users who participate in a conference. The group information holding section holds group information indicating multiple groups. The groups are obtained by grouping the users of the terminal apparatuses. Any of the terminal apparatuses is referred to as a certain terminal apparatus. Each of the groups includes one or more users. The audio controller controls volumes of sound output of the audio data independently for the respective groups based on the group information held by the group information holding section. The audio data is received by the audio data receiving section.
