The present disclosure relates to a pressure sensitive adhesive assembly comprising at least a first pressure sensitive adhesive layer comprising a hollow non-porous particulate filler material, wherein the surface of the hollow non-porous particulate filler material is provided with a hydrophobic surface modification. The present disclosure also relates to a method of manufacturing such a pressure sensitive adhesive assembly.

A barrier film including a substrate, a base (co)polymer layer applied on a major surface of the substrate, an oxide layer applied on the base (co)polymer layer, and a protective (co)polymer layer applied on the oxide layer. The protective (co)polymer layer is formed as the reaction product of a first (meth)acryloyl compound and a (meth)acryl-silane compound derived from a Michael reaction between a second (meth)acryloyl compound and an aminosilane. The first and second (meth)acryloyl compounds may be the same. In some embodiments, a multiplicity of alternating layers of the oxide layer and the protective (co)polymer layer may be used. An oxide layer can be applied over the top protective (co)polymer layer. The barrier films provide, in some embodiments, enhanced resistance to moisture and improved peel strength adhesion of the protective (co)polymer layer(s) to the underlying layers. A process of making, and methods of using the barrier film are also described.

A method of making a silyl-terminated polyurethane in an aqueous dispersion aqueous silyl-terminated polyurethane dispersions are described. In one embodiment, the polyurethane comprises a) urethane moieties derived from the reaction of a (i) a diol; (ii) a neutralized anionic water solubilizing compound; and iii) a diisocyanate. The polyurethane also comprises b) silyl terminal groups derived from an alkoxy silane compound having the formula (RO)SiR&#x2014;Z, wherein Ris independently hydrogen or a C-Calkyl; Ris a divalent group selected from alkylene, alkylarylene, oxyalkylene; and Z is selected from the group consisting of &#x2014;OH, &#x2014;SH, &#x2014;NR, &#x2014;NH, wherein R is an aromatic or aliphatic cyclic group. The polyurethane also comprises c) urea moieties derived from the reaction of an isocyanate terminated prepolymer and a difunctional hydrazine or hydrazide compound.

Polyester polymers are described comprising polymerized units comprising a hydroxy functional aromatic group wherein the hydroxy group has been functionalized with an adhesion promoting group. Provided are one-part, shelf-stable polyurethane aerosol compositions, and related articles and methods. When sprayed onto a substrate and dried, these compositions provide polyurethane films. These polyurethane films display improved moisture resistance, optical clarity, and weatherability compared to known aerosol compositions, particularly in adverse environmental conditions. The compositions generally include an aqueous polyurethane dispersion containing a urethane moiety obtained by reacting (i) a polyol or thiol having isocyanate-reactive functional groups, (ii) a neutralized water-solubilizing compound, and (iii) a diisocyanate and optionally a silane terminal group; a propellant; and optionally one or more additives.
