A system relating to using machine learning and associated technologies for auto routing of wireless sensors to one of the multiple radio frequency (RF) portals/gateways which in turn may be interfaced/wired to control panel(s). A deployed machine learning algorithm may incorporate current parameters and historical data, such as signal strength, sensor association, critical sensor response types and disruption in the network, to determine sensor routing for one of the appropriate RF portal/gateway which in turn is interfaced to control panel(s).

System and approach of wireless sensor auto routing using machine learning

A method for improving the reliability of a security system includes determining an amount of cellular communication data usage over a cellular communication connection since the beginning of a predefined period of time and a remaining amount of cellular communication data for the remainder of the predefined period of time based at least in part on the amount of cellular communication data usage over the cellular communication connection since the beginning of the predefined period of time and a predefined cellular data usage cap for the predefined period of time. When a determination is made that a projected amount of cellular communication data usage is expected to exceed the predefined cellular data usage cap at or before the end of the predefined period of time, one or more operations of the security system are changed to reduce the amount of cellular communication data usage by the security system.

A sensor walk-test may be streamlined by storing an expected behavior of sensor events. The sensor event data is then compared to the expected behavior of sensor events in order to determine which of the plurality of sensors need a sensor walk-test to verify proper operation of the sensor and which of the plurality of sensors do not need a sensor walk-test. A listing of which of the plurality of sensors are determined to need a sensor walk-test to verify proper operation of the sensor is displayed on a display of a user device. Communication testing may be streamlined in a similar manner.
