A method and system that enables a computer to determine a cause of occupancy of a predetermined area using real-time location information. The real-time location information is processed to determine occupancy information of each of a plurality of zones of the predetermined area. The (combined) occupancy information is processed using a machine-learning model to predict an occupancy cause of the predetermined zones of the predetermined area.

Monitoring moveable entities in a predetermined area

Disclosed is a system, a kit, a use and an in vitro method for assessing whether a human patient suffering from periodontitis has mild periodontitis or advanced periodontitis. The system and method are based on the insight to apply a clustering technique to a reference set of patient data, and then further discriminating the sets of bio markers to be applied. The clusters are determined on the basis of the biomarkers Hepatocyte Growth Factor (HGF), Matrix metalloproteinase 8 (MMP8), and Matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP9). The actual classification of the patient is done on the basis of the measurement of the concentrations of either of two sets of biomarkers. For one cluster these are Interleukin-1β (IL1β), Interleukin-6 (IL6), and Collagen Telopeptide. For the other cluster, these are HGF and metallopeptidase inhibitor 1 (TIMP1).

Classification of periodontitis patients

Disclosed is a system for analysis of microscopic image data acquired from biological cells. The system includes a data processing system which is configured to read the image data and determine a plurality of vertices, wherein each of the vertices represents a location of an entity of interest within a region of interest of the image data. The data processing system generates a plurality of graphs, wherein for each of the graphs, the generation of the respective graph includes generating a plurality of edges, wherein each of the edges has two of the plurality of vertices associated therewith. For each of the graphs one or more vertex sets are identified, each of which consisting of one or more of the plurality of vertices. The data processing system further determines, for each of the graphs, a number of the identified vertex sets.

System for analysis of microscopic data using graphs

Disclosed is an in vitro method for assessing whether a human patient suffering from periodontitis has mild periodontitis or advanced periodontitis. The method is based on the insight to determine a selection of three biomarker proteins. Accordingly, in a sample of saliva a patient suffering from periodontitis, the concentrations are measured of the proteins Interleukin-1β (IL-1β), Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and at least one of the proteins: Interleukin-6 (IL-6), and Matrix metalloproteinase-3 (MMP-3). Based on the concentrations as measured, a value is determined reflecting the joint concentrations for said proteins. This value is compared with a threshold value reflecting in the same manner the joint concentrations associated with advanced periodontitis. The comparison allows assessing whether the testing value is indicative of the presence of advanced periodontitis or of mild periodontitis in said patient. Thereby, typically, a testing value reflecting a joint concentration below the joint concentration reflected by the threshold value is indicative for mild periodontitis in said patient, and a testing value reflecting a joint concentration at or above the joint concentration reflected by the threshold value, is indicative for advanced periodontitis in said patient.

Diagnostics of mild or advanced periodontitis based on salivary IL-1BETA and MMP-9

A system () includes a real-time locating system (RTLS) () configured to track locations of tags () in a monitored area. A non-transitory storage medium stores, a map () of the monitored area; a nodes database () storing information on nodes (); and a pathogen database () storing infectious transmission information. The non-transitory storage medium includes instructions readable and executable by an electronic processor to perform an infectious disease transmission tracking method () including: computing a pathway () on the map of at least one infected node using locations of the tag wherein an infected node has a non-zero infection likelihood; computing an infectious zone () on the map along the pathway; for each node contacting the infectious zone, adjusting the infection likelihood of the contacting node and designating the contacting node as an infected node if the updated infection likelihood of the contacting node satisfies an infected criterion.

Predicting, preventing, and controlling infection transmission within a healthcare facility using a real-time locating system and next generation sequencing

The non-transitory storage medium includes instructions readable and executable by the at least one electronic processor to perform an infectious disease transmission tracking method () including: computing a pathway () on the map of at least one infected node using locations of the tag associated with the infected node received from the RTLS wherein an infected node has a non-zero infection likelihood respective to the tracked pathogen which satisfies an infected criterion; computing an infectious zone () on the map along the pathway using the infectious transmission information stored in the pathogen database; for each node contacting the infectious zone, adjusting the infection likelihood of the contacting node in the nodes database based on at least the infectious transmission information for the tracked pathogen and designating the contacting node as an infected node if the updated infection likelihood of the contacting node satisfies the infected criterion.

The disclosure describes is a channel switching strategy and corresponding protocol for a mesh network which comprises a segment controller (SC) and a large number of outdoor luminaire controllers (OLCs) or other network nodes. A channel switching process is initiated and managed by the SC which transmits a channel switching command to all nodes in the system. Following the actual channel switch, the SC delegate's responsibility to request an orphan node to switch to the new channel to a selected delegate node which is a neighbor node of the orphan node. The selection of the delegate node may be based on a prioritization. When an OLC does not receive any messages for a specified, prolonged period of time, it may scan available frequency bands to find the (new) channel in which the networked system operates at that time.
