A system is provided, wherein the system includes a fire alarm system within a secured area, a call station of the fire alarm system, and a cellphone that includes at least one fire detection device and that forms a cellular connection with the fire alarm system, wherein the fire alarm system determines a location of the cellphone based upon the cellular connection, and wherein the fire alarm system detects a fire within the secured area and provides instructions through the cellphone for exiting the secured area based upon the detected location of the cellphone.

Alarm system with wireless communication

A system, apparatus and method are provided for testing a secondary servo control circuit in a redundant control configuration. A first circuit is configured to receive a control signal and to control an attribute of an actuator based on the control signal using a first control input of the actuator. A second circuit is configured to test operation of an actuator circuit using a test signal. The actuator circuit includes at least part of the second circuit and a second control input of the actuator. The test signal is selected to avoid causing independent motion of the actuator. The actuator could be a dual coil servo valve, and the test signal could be a current (such as a DC current, an AC current, or a pulsed current) having a magnitude less than a bias current of the actuator.

System and method for testing a secondary servo control circuit in a redundant control configuration

An over-current electronic protection system includes a first solid state reversibly interruptible electronic switch including first output control logic and first controlled output channels controlled by the first control logic. The first output control logic reversibly interrupts power at any output channel when their current exceed limits. The system includes a second solid state reversibly interruptible electronic switch including second control logic and second controlled outputs. A power supply input of the second switch is coupled to one of the first controlled output channels to receive the power. The second controlled outputs provide power to loads under normal operating conditions and reversibly interrupt the power for second output channels when their current exceeds limits. A CPU having is coupled to the second output channels and external inputs of the second switches via an isolation device to provide a supervisory and monitoring function.

Multi-level electronic protection system providing safe fault recovery for multiple digital control outputs

A current generator that provides a first current level to read a configuration parameter of a field device. The current generator also provides a second current level. The first current level is lower in amperage than the second current level. The first current level does not operate the field device. The second current level operates the field device. A current sensor is connected in circuit with the field device. The current sensor reads the configuration parameter associated with the first current level. A method is provided that creates a current that reads a configuration parameter. The current has less than a minimum amplitude to operate necessary to operate a field device. The configuration parameter is read from the field device through employment of the current. The field device is configured through employment of the configuration parameter.
