This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for beamforming in wireless communications. Some implementations more specifically relate to beamforming configurations for multicast communications. A transmitting device may transmit multicast data to multiple receiving devices, concurrently, via a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH). The PDSCH may be preceded by a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH). The PDCCH may provide scheduling information for the PDSCH, including a multicast beam associated with the PDSCH and a timing offset or delay between the PDCCH and the PDSCH. A receiving device may determine that the PDSCH contains multicast data based on an indication in the PDCCH. To receive the PDSCH, each receiving device may tune its antennas in a direction of the scheduled multicast beam or a default beam based on the delay between the PDCCH and the PDSCH.

Beamforming in multicast communications

Aspects described herein relate to receiving multiple synchronization signal block (SSB) signals from a base station, wherein the multiple SSB signals are each beamformed based on a different directional beam, selecting a signature from a signature space of a first SSB of the multiple SSB signals, and transmitting, based on the signature, a random access message to the base station, wherein the random access message includes an indicator of a preferred SSB of the multiple SSB signals.

Techniques for indicating a preferred beam in wireless communication random access

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration message indicating that a control resource set for a downlink control channel is associated with a plurality of demodulation reference signal (DMRS) ports. The UE may determine, based at least in part on the configuration message, that a first set of DMRS resource elements in a first symbol of the control resource set correspond to a first DMRS port of the plurality of DMRS ports and a second set of DMRS resource elements in a second symbol of the control resource set correspond to a second DMRS port of the plurality of DMRS ports. The UE may decode the downlink control channel based at least in part on the determining.

Reference signal port mapping for control channels

In an aspect, a PDCCH and a PDSCH are transmitted by a BS to a UE, whereby the PDCCH includes a first DCI part and the PDSCH includes a second DCI part (e.g., a 2-part DCI). In an example a first grant associated with the second DCI part is offset relative to a slot position of the second DCI part, whereas a second grant associated with the second DCI part is offset relative to the slot position to which the first grant is offset. In another aspect, two or more grants are grouped together, with the respective group being mapped to a PUCCH.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A UE may communicate with a set of transceiver nodes (e.g., transmission reception points (TRPs)) in a first transceiver node operation mode (e.g., a multi-TRP mode). A first transceiver node of the set of transceiver nodes may receive, from a second of the set of transceiver nodes, an indication to switch between rate matching states. The first transceiver node may switch from a first rate matching state to a second rate matching state and may transmit a downlink shared channel based on a resource configuration associated with the second rate matching state. The UE may receive the shared channel based on an antenna port configuration determined by the UE based on the first transceiver node operation and rate matching information. The rate matching information may be provided by the first transceiver node.

Semi-dynamic rate matching

Wireless communication devices, systems, and methods related to mechanisms for transmitting and receiving reference signals in a high-speed train (HST) single frequency network (SFN). A base station (BS) determines a first frequency pre-compensation value for a reference signal transmitted via a first transmission and reception point (TRP) and a second frequency pre-compensation value for a reference signal via a second TRP. The BS notifies a user equipment (UE) of the first and second pre-compensation values through at least one of the TRPs. The BS applies the first pre-compensation value to the reference signal via the first TRP and the second pre-compensation value to the reference signal via the second TRP. The UE adjusts its tracking loop for the reference signal based on the pre-compensation values, reducing estimation and/or search overhead at the UE.

Frequency pre-compensation for high-speed train single frequency networks

In one aspect, a method includes determining a first SSB burst set information corresponding to a first PCI; determining a second SSB burst set information corresponding to a second PCI, the second PCI different from the first PCI; and monitoring at least a first SSB from the first SSB burst set and at least a second SSB from the second SSB burst set. In another aspect, a method includes determining a number of RSRP reports to send based a CSI report request; transmitting a first RSRP report for a first beam of a plurality of beams, the first beam associated with a first group of beams of a plurality of groups; and transmitting a second RSRP report for a second beam of the plurality of beams, the second beam associated with a second group of beams of the plurality of groups.

Enhancements for multi-TRP modes

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless device may identify, for an initial slot of a periodic interval, a number of symbols included in the initial slot and a length of cyclic prefixes used for the symbols included in the initial slot based on a subcarrier spacing that is configured for wireless communication. The length of a first set of cyclic prefixes may be based on a length of a cyclic prefix calculated for an initial symbol of the initial slot at the configured subcarrier spacing. The wireless device may perform communications based on the determined number of symbols and length of cyclic prefixes included in the initial slot. Performing communications may include allocating resources based on a length of the cyclic prefixes used for the symbols included in the initial slot.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a control channel that uses an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) waveform. The UE may transmit or receiving a data channel, associated with the control channel, that uses a single-carrier (SC) waveform. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a UE capability to receive a first portion of a tracking reference signal (TRS) and a second portion of the TRS, the first portion and the second portion associated with a TRS pattern. The UE may receive, from the base station, an indication of the TRS pattern, where the TRS pattern includes the first portion of the TRS pattern and the second portion of the TRS pattern. The UE may receive one or more TRSs according to the first portion of the TRS pattern and the second portion of the TRS pattern.

Enhanced tracking reference signal patterns

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently monitoring for wake-up signaling from one or more transmission and reception points (TRPs), the wake-up signaling indicating the presence of data or control information in an on-duration state of a discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle. In particular, select TRPs may be used to transmit wake-up signaling to a user equipment (UE), and the UE may be configured to monitor for wake-up signaling from the select TRPs. Once the UE receives wake-up signaling prior to an on-duration state of a DRX cycle from any of the select TRPs, the UE may then determine the TRPs scheduled to transmit data or control information in the on-duration state (e.g., based on the WUS or based on further control signaling), and the UE may receive the data or control information from the TRPs in the on-duration state.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine a tracking reference signal (TRS) pattern to be used for receiving a TRS. The TRS pattern may indicate a plurality of TRS symbols of the TRS, one or more TRS symbols of the plurality of TRS symbols having a bandwidth that is different than a bandwidth of at least one other TRS symbol of the plurality of TRS symbols, or having a discontinuous tone allocation. The UE may receive the TRS based at least in part on the TRS pattern. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Low overhead tracking reference signal for frequency tracking

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive, from a first transmit receive point (TRP), a downlink control information (DCI) communication, the UE being included in a multi-TRP configuration with the first TRP and a second TRP. The UE may determine information unique to the first TRP. The information unique to the first TRP may be at least one of associated with the DCI communication or included in the DCI communication. The UE may generate a downlink scrambling sequence initialization code, associated with the first TRP, based at least in part on the information unique to the first TRP. The UE may generate a downlink scrambling sequence, associated with the first TRP, based at least in part on the downlink scrambling sequence initialization code associated with the first TRP. A semiconductor package includes a base substrate and an interposer substrate. The interposer substrate includes a semiconductor substrate, a first passivation layer, a wiring region, a through via penetrating through the semiconductor substrate and the first passivation layer, and a second passivation layer covering at least a portion of the first passivation layer and having an opening exposing a lower surface of the through via. The semiconductor package further includes a conductive pillar extending from the opening of the second passivation layer; and a conductive bump disposed between the conductive pillar and the base substrate. The opening of the second passivation layer has inclined side surfaces such that a width of the opening decreases towards the first passivation layer, and side surfaces of the conductive pillar are positioned to overlap the inclined side surfaces of the second passivation layer in a vertical direction.

A UE configured to report resources, such as beams, to a base station may be unaware of the context or purpose for which the UE is reporting such resources. As different resources may provide different performance and/or quality when used in different contexts, the resources reported by the UE may provide lower quality and/or performance in one context relative to some other unreported resources. In order to improve resource reporting by the UE, the UE may be informed of an operational mode and/or a criteria based upon which the UE may select resources to report. The UE may report such selected resources to the base station in a group-based beam report. The base station may then configure communication with the UE based on the reported resources.
