The linear portions of the plurality of offset spine loops are arranged in-plane a single common plane, and the distal portions of the plurality of offset spine loops are arranged off-plane from the single common plane.

A mechanical thrombectomy device includes several clot arrestors mounted on a support wire. The clot arrestors have rings of expandable frame cells. The frame cell rings include an open frame cell ring, having a gap between adjacent frame cells in the ring, and a closed frame cell ring, having no gap between adjacent frame cells. The gap allows clots to enter the clot arrestor for retrieval from a target anatomy. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

A mechanical thrombectomy device, and methods of manufacturing and using the mechanical thrombectomy device, are described. The mechanical thrombectomy device includes several clot arrestors independently mounted on a support wire. The clot arrestors have expandable frames that are eccentrically supported on the support wire. The independently and eccentrically mounted clot arrestors are arranged to allow a clot to pass into, and be captured by, one of the expandable frames. Furthermore, the independently and eccentrically mounted clot arrestors deform independently of one another such that retraction of the mechanical thrombectomy device through tortuous vasculature can stretch one clot arrestor without stretching another one of the clot arrestors to allow the clot to be retained by the unstretched clot arrestors. Other embodiments are also described and claimed.

Thrombectomy device and method

A spine that may be used in the electrode assembly of an electrophysiologic catheter having controlled flexibility. The spine may have a flexible core that extends through a length of the spine, a polymeric cover and a plurality of electrodes, each having at least one lead, distributed longitudinally along the spine. An amount of material forming the spine may be adjusted longitudinally along the spine to compensate for changes in flexibility to the spine caused by varying numbers of electrode leads present at different relative longitudinal positions along the spine.

This disclosure is directed to a catheter having a basket-shaped electrode assembly with a high electrode density. The basket-shaped electrode assembly may have a plurality of spines, such as up to twelve, each with a plurality of electrodes, such as up to sixteen. The distal ends of the plurality of spines are joined at a distal hub, all of which are fashioned from a single piece of superelastic material.
