A vehicle exhaust gas reduction system positioned in an exhaust system of an engine includes: an electrically heated catalyst (EHC) of heating exhaust gas of the engine by electrically generating heat; a sub-gasoline particulate filter (Sub GPF) heated by operation of the EHC to combust a particulate number (PN) included in the exhaust gas; a main gasoline particulate filter (Main GPF) of purifying the exhaust gas discharged from the engine; and a controller configured for performing PN reduction control by operating the EHC to be On in a low-temperature condition, and increasing a temperature of the Sub GPF to a reference temperature at which soot combustion is possible, combusting the PN passing through the Sub GPF and soot collected in the Sub GPF.

Vehicle exhaust gas reduction system and method thereof

A catalyst unit may include a carrier, a channel opening portion through which exhaust gas passes, a skin portion that is formed along a circumference and integrally formed with the channel opening portion, and a skin addition portion that is formed with a second thickness on an outside surface of the skin portion. A fabrication device of the catalyst unit may include a container, a masking member, and an elastic member, wherein plugging material flows through opened channels and does not contact the masking member. A manufacturing method of the catalyst unit may include covering the masking member and inserting plugging material into an opened channel. A channel corresponding to a dead zone is plugged and the catalyst coating layer is not formed in the plugged channels, thus reducing the cost of the catalyst.

Catalytic converter and fabrication method thereof

An exhaust gas treatment system includes an exhaust line through which exhaust gas flows. A nitrogen oxide purification catalyst is disposed at one side of the exhaust line to reduce the nitrogen oxide. A diesel particulate filter is disposed at a downstream side of the nitrogen oxide purification catalyst, filters a particulate material, and eliminates the material in a set condition, wherein a set amount of oxygen storage material is included in the diesel particulate filter.

A catalyst unit may include a carrier that channels may be formed from a front surface thereof to a rear surface thereof, and plugs that closes the channels that may be formed along an edge portion of the front surface except a central portion of the front surface, wherein a coating layer may be not formed in the channels that the plugs may be disposed and a coating layer may be formed along the remaining opened channels.
