A display module and an HMD device including the same are discussed in which a black matrix is not recognized as a lattice type by a user without an increase in resolution of the display module. The display module according to an embodiment includes a first substrate on which a plurality of pixels are provided, a second substrate including one surface on which an engraved pattern is provided, and a lens layer filled into the engraved pattern of the second substrate. The lens layer comprises a plurality of lenses respectively corresponding to the plurality of pixels.

Display module and head-mounted display device including the same

A heads-up display device includes a display unit which outputs a 3D image and at least one holographic optical element which is attached to a windshield of the vehicle to diffract and reflect the 3D image output from the display unit so that a reflection efficiency of the 3D image may be improved while minimizing a module volume.

Heads-up display device

Disclosed is an AR device which has a thin thickness and a wide FOV and displays an image obtained by mixing a virtual object with the real world. The AR device includes a display unit displaying an augmented image, a reflector reflecting the augmented image displayed by the display unit, and an augmentation unit displaying the augmented image reflected by the reflector along with a real image. The display unit is disposed in an upper boundary of a front viewing angle range of a user, the reflector is disposed at a first angle with respect to the display unit, and the augmentation unit is disposed within the front viewing angle range of the user.

Augmented reality device

A head mounted display of which thickness may be reduced is disclosed. The head mounted display comprises a lens, and a display module accommodating unit for providing an image to the lens. The display module accommodating unit includes a display module for displaying an image, a first quarter wave (&#x3bb;/4) plate arranged between the display module and the lens, delaying a phase of incident light as much as &#x3bb;/4, a second quarter wave plate arranged between the first quarter wave plate and the lens, delaying a phase of incident light as much as &#x3bb;/4, a reflective polarizing plate arranged between the second quarter wave plate and the lens, passing through first linear polarized light and reflecting second linear polarized light crossing the first linear polarized light, and a semi-transmissive plate arranged between the first quarter wave plate and the second quarter wave plate.

Head mounted display

A display device capable of actively controlling a viewing angle by an electrical signal, and a method for driving the same, are discussed. The display device in one embodiment includes a first substrate with a plurality of pixels, and a second substrate with convex lens, the second substrate facing the first substrate. Each of the plurality of pixels includes a main pixel and a viewing angle control pixel, and an image is displayed on both the main pixel and the viewing angle control pixel in a wide viewing angle mode. Further, an image is displayed on the main pixel, and a black is displayed on the viewing angle control pixel in a narrow viewing angle mode.
