An electronic device includes first and second housings, a flexible display, a hinge structure, a hinge cover, and a wireless communication circuit. The first housing includes a first conductive portion, the hinge cover may be positioned opposing the flexible display with respect to the hinge structure when the housings are in a folded state, and the second housing includes a second conductive portion. When the housing are folded, the hinge cover is exposed to the outside of the electronic device by a first width while being disposed between the first edge of the first housing and the second edge of the second housing, and in the folded state, the wireless communication circuit feeds a first point of the hinge cover and transmits and/or receives a signal in a first frequency band, through a first electrical path formed in the first conductive portion and/or the second conductive portion by the feeding.

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a housing including a first plate, a second plate, and a side member, a metal structure of which a part is connected to the side member, and a printed circuit board. The side member includes a first conductive portion, a second conductive portion, a third conductive portion, a first segment formed between the first conductive portion and the second conductive portion, and a second segment formed between the first conductive portion and the third conductive portion. The first conductive portion is connected to a first ground part disposed on the printed circuit board through a first path, and is connected to a second ground part disposed on the metal structure through a second path spaced from the first path by a specific distance.

An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a first housing, a second housing connected to the first housing through a connection member and a wireless communication circuit. A first portion of a first edge of the first housing is formed of a conductive material, an insulating member is disposed on one end of the first portion, and a conductive region of the connection member is connected to another end of the first portion, and a first point of the first portion is connected to a feed point through a capacitor. The second housing includes a second edge having a second length corresponding to the first length, a second portion of the second edge is formed of a conductive material, an opening formed adjacently along the second portion, an insulating member is disposed on one end of the second portion, and the conductive region of the connection member is connected to another end of the second portion, and a switch is disposed between a first point of the second portion and a ground region. The wireless communication circuit may control the switch to electrically open the first point of the second portion and the ground region.

Device for improving antenna radiation performance in electronic device having folded structure, and method therefor

According to an embodiment, an electronic device comprises: a foldable housing comprising a first housing hingably connected to a second housing, a first side member disposed about a side surface of the first housing and comprising a first plurality of conductive parts, and a second side member disposed about a side surface of the second housing and comprising a second plurality of conductive parts; a communication circuit electrically connected to a first conductive part among the first plurality of conductive parts and configured to transmit and receive a signal in a selected or specified frequency band; a first sensor integrated circuit (IC) electrically connected to at least one of the first plurality of conductive parts and configured to measure capacitance; a second sensor IC electrically connected to at least one of the second plurality of conductive parts and configured to measure capacitance; a first switching circuit electrically connected to the first conductive part and a second conductive part among the first plurality of conductive parts; and a processor and a memory, wherein the memory stores instructions that, when executed, cause the processor to perform a plurality of operations, the plurality of operations comprising: controlling the first switching circuit wherein the first conductive part and the second conductive part are electrically connected, based on at least one of the capacitance measured by the first sensor IC and the capacitance measured by the second sensor IC when the foldable housing is in a folded state.

An example wearable electronic device may include: a bridge; a first rim disposed in a first direction of the bridge, and a second rim disposed in a second direction of the bridge, the second direction being opposite to the first direction; and a first temple configured to be folded or unfolded with respect to the first rim using a first hinge part, and a second temple configured to be folded or unfolded with respect to the second rim using a second hinge part, wherein the first temple includes: a first printed circuit board on which a wireless communication circuit is disposed and a ground area is partially formed; a non-conductive area formed on a part of the ground area; a feeder wire disposed across the non-conductive area, and having a first end electrically connected to the wireless communication circuit using a signal path and a second end disposed adjacent to the ground area; a feeder point formed adjacent to the second end of the feeder wire and electrically connected to the feeder wire; and a first electronic component electrically connected to a part of the ground area, electrically connected to the feeder point, using a first conductive connection member, wherein the part of the ground area and at least a part of the first electronic component may be utilized as antennas.
