A frictional transmission belt according to the present disclosure has a belt body wound around a pulley to transmit power. The belt includes a water absorptive fabric covering at least one side of the belt body that contacts with the pulley.

Power transmission belt

A friction transmission belt includes a belt body, formed of a rubber composition, looped over a pulley, and transmitting power. The friction transmission belt includes a reinforcing fabric wrapping at least a surface, of the belt body, in contact with the pulley. The reinforcing fabric is a knitted fabric, and on the surface of the belt body in contact with the pulley, a wale direction of the reinforcing fabric is a direction in which the friction transmission belt travels.

In order to allow a friction drive belt to have an effect of reducing slip noise produced between the belt and pulleys for a long period even when the belt gets wet with water or suffers from wearing out, a V-ribbed belt B as the friction drive belt includes a belt bodymade of a rubber composition and configured to be wrapped around the pulleys to transmit power. The surfaces of V-shaped ribsserving as a pulley contact-side surface of the belt bodyare covered with a fabric layerwhich is integrated with the surfaces of V-shaped ribs, and the fabric layerretains powderembedded between fibers of the fabric layerand integrally stuck.

Friction drive belt and manufacturing method therefor

A friction transmission belt includes a belt body made of a rubber composition and wrapped around pulleys to transmit power. A thermoplastic resin film(s) adheres to a pulley contact-side surface of the belt body, and friction coefficient reduction powder particles dispersively adhere to the pulley contact-side surface of the belt body.
