The presently disclosed subject matter relates generally to a wireless charge-discharge (WCD) energy storage device that includes an anode element, a cathode element that is proximately positioned to the anode element, a receiver coil element concentrically encircling each of the anode element and the cathode element, and a transmitter coil element concentrically encircling each of the receiver coil element, the anode element, and the cathode element. The WCD storage device further includes a switch element that i) when set to a first position establishes a connection between the transmitter coil element and the cathode element that permits the transmitter coil to generate a magnetic field and ii) when set to a second position prevents the connection between the transmitter coil element and the cathode element such that the receiver coil element is configured carry an induced current when the receiver coil element is positioned within a magnetic field.

Wireless charge/discharge flexible energy storage devices

A process for the facile prelithiation of silicon-containing materials for use in lithium ion batteries is disclosed. The process can include using a lithium additive comprising LiSt, LiO&#x2014;SiO&#x2014;TiO&#x2014;PO, LATP, LAGP, LLTO, LLZO, LiN, LiBF, LiCO, LiPO, lithium-enriched variations thereof, or combinations thereof. The resulting prelithiated materials demonstrate enhanced physicochemical properties providing for high target capacity and excellent cycle stability for the batteries prepared with the materials.

Prelithiated silicon particles for lithium ion batteries

A lithium deficient cathode active material for lithium-ion batteries is described. More particularly, the lithium deficient cathode active material can have multiphase structures, including both a layered or hexagonal structure (e.g., having an R-3m space group) and a spinel structure (e.g., having aspace group). Batteries including the cathode active material and methods of preparing the cathode active material are also described.
