Disclosed is a robot cleaner comprising: a cleaner main body to which a dust collecting device is mounted; a cleaning module which is configured to be movable relative to the cleaner main body and performs the function of cleaning a floor; a connection unit which is connected to each of the cleaner main body and the cleaning module and is configured to have a variable length; and a driving unit configured to change the length of the connection unit.

An autonomous cleaner includes: a cleaner body; a cleaning module protruded from one side of the cleaner body, and having a castor; caterpillar units provided at both sides of the cleaner body, and positioned at a rear side of the cleaning module, wherein the caterpillar unit includes: a driving module; a driving wheel mounted to the driving module, and formed to be rotatable by receiving a driving force from the driving module; a driven wheel mounted to the driving module, and provided at a rear side of the driving wheel; and a belt formed to entirely enclose the driving wheel and the driven wheel as a closed loop, and configured to rotate the driven wheel when the driving wheel is rotated. The cleaner body is supported on a floor surface by the castor and the driven wheel, or by the driving wheel and the driven wheel.

Autonomous cleaner

A robot cleaner includes: a cleaner body; a driving unit configured to provide a driving force; a driving pulley connected to the driving unit, and formed to be rotatable by receiving the driving force from the driving unit; first and second driven pulleys disposed at both sides of the driving pulley; and a belt forming a closed loop by entirely enclosing the driving pulley and the first and second driven pulleys, and configured to rotate the first and second driven pulleys when the driving pulley is rotated.

A moving robot includes a main body, a drive assembly moving the main body, and a cleaner head performing cleaning on a cleaning area in which the main body is positioned, wherein the drive assembly includes a plurality of pulleys, a motor connected to any one of the plurality of pulleys and generating a driving force, a belt rotated in contact with the plurality of pulleys, and a support shaft connected to some of the plurality of pulleys and changing a position of the pulley such that an area in which the belt is in contact with a ground or an obstacle is maintained to be equal to or greater than a reference area.

Moving robot and control method thereof

A robot cleaner configured to elastically deform a brush part using contact force between bristles and a floor and then restoring the brush part to vibrate the bristles, thereby improving cleaning performance. The robot cleaner includes a case that moves on a floor, a brush shaft mounted to the case such that the brush shaft rotates by driving force from a drive unit, an elastic member fixed to the brush shaft, the elastic member made of an elastic material, and a brush part fixed to the elastic member, the brush part having bristles, wherein the brush part generates generate vibration during deformation and restoration of the elastic member when external force is applied. The elastic member deforms due to contact force between the bristles and the floor and is then restored, and the brush part vibrates during deformation and restoration of the elastic member.

A moving robot includes a main body, a drive assembly moving the main body, and a cleaner head performing cleaning on a cleaning area in which the main body is positioned, wherein the drive assembly includes a main wheel, a motor generating a driving force, a gear box connected to the main wheel and the motor and transferring the driving force from the motor to the main wheel, and a leg member disposed on a shaft connecting the main wheel and the gear box and providing thrust independently of the main wheel.

A mop module for a robot cleaner may include a module body detachably coupled to a cleaner body; and a mop mounted to the module body, and configured to wipe a floor as the cleaner body moves. The module body may include a hook protruding from the module body, and detachably mounted to the cleaner body by being elastically deflected; and a pressing member installed at the module body so as to be moveable in opposing directions, and configured to elastically deflect the hook.

A robot cleaner includes a body forming an external appearance of the robot cleaner, a body moving part provided to the body to move the body, a body driving unit to drive the body moving part, a dust collector to capture suctioned foreign substances and provided with a first chamber and a second chamber communicating with the first chamber, a suction generation unit to supply suction force to the dust collector, and a guide member to guide the foreign substances captured in the first chamber to the second chamber and to apply pressure to the foreign substances in the second chamber in order to compress the foreign substances.

A robot cleaner includes a cleaner body, a suction unit, and a cyclone unit. The cyclone unit has a first suction opening and a second suction opening for sucking air, and a first cyclone and a second cyclone for passing air therethrough, the air having dust filtered therefrom by a centrifugal force. A first guiding member and a second guiding member extend upwardly from the suction unit toward the cyclone unit with an inclination angle, the first guiding member for connection between the suction unit and the first suction opening, and the second guiding member for connection between the suction unit and the second suction opening. A dust box communicated with a dust discharge opening is provided at a front side of the cyclone unit so as to collect dust filtered by the cyclone unit. The dust box is partially or wholly accommodated between the first and second guiding members.

A robot cleaner and a method for controlling the same are disclosed. The robot cleaner includes a body provided with a suction portion and a slope formed to be inclined at a lower end thereof, an auxiliary front wheel disposed at a rear side of the slope, a main wheel disposed at a rear side of the auxiliary front wheel and arranged such that a height of the main wheel is variable with respect to the body, and a driving unit to lower or raise the main wheel with respect to the body, wherein the driving unit lowers the main wheel when the auxiliary front wheel enters a stepped portion. The robot cleaner is capable of climbing up a higher stepped portion than in conventional cases.

Robot cleaner and method for controlling the same

A robot cleaner includes: a suction module configured to suck dust-included air; a cyclone module configured to separate dust from the dust-included air sucked through the suction module, and having a dust discharge opening; a first air flow guide and a second air flow guide spaced apart from each other, and connecting the suction unit to the cyclone unit; a dust box detachably coupled to the dust discharge opening of the cyclone module, and provided between the first and second air flow guides; a drive module provided between the first and second air flow guides; and a dust compressor provided in the dust box, and mechanically coupled to the drive module when the dust box is mounted to the cyclone module, and formed to be rotatable bi-directionally based on a driving force from the drive module such that dust collected in the dust box is pressed to have a deceased volume.

A cleaner body forms an outer appearance of a robot cleaner. A suction module provided in the cleaner body, and configured to suck dust on a surface to be cleaned. A first guiding member and a second guiding member communicate with the suction module, and spaced apart from each other, and a cyclone unit is configured to separate dust from air sucked through the first and second guiding members, using a centrifugal force. A fan module is connected to the cyclone module, and includes a motor module, and a first fan module and a second fan module connected to two sides of the motor module and configured to generate a suction force. A noise reducing cover is provided over an upper side of the fan module so as to reduce noise, and extends toward two sides of the motor module to cover the first and second fan modules.

A robot cleaner including a cleaner body, a dust suction unit and a dust collection unit attached to the cleaner body, and a driving device to move the cleaner body, wherein the driving device includes a power generation unit to generate power, a power transmission unit to transmit the power generated by the power generation unit to a wheel such that the wheel is rotated by the power transmitted from the power transmission unit, and wherein the wheel includes a wheel member connected to the power transmission unit, and a first member and a second member attached to an outer circumference of the wheel member such that the first member and the second member contact different floor surfaces.
