The present invention relates to a laundry processing apparatus and a control method therefor, and to a laundry processing apparatus having a plurality of washing parts for performing washing independently of each other, the apparatus: determining whether the plurality of washing parts simultaneously perform washing; and determining whether a simultaneous operation is performed on the basis of the time required when water is supplied, so as to determine an error for the simultaneous operation on the basis of a standard different from an error determination standard during a single operation, thereby reducing the errors frequently occurring because of the simultaneous operation in a normal state.

A clothes treatment apparatus includes a tub to store water, a drum rotatably arranged in the tub to accommodate clothes, a communication tube communicated with the tub, a pressure in the communication tube corresponding to a water level of the tub, and a chamber provided at a free end of the communication tube so that a pressure in the chamber corresponds to a water level of the tub. An elastic part is provided in the chamber and elastically deformed according to a change in pressure in the communication tube. An output unit having a plurality of resistors is provided on one surface of the elastic part to generate an electrical signal corresponding to an amount of deformation of the elastic part, and a controller is configured to receive the electrical signal and sense the water level of the tub by comparing the electrical signal of the output unit with a reference electrical signal indicating a zero water level of the tub.

A control method of a laundry treatment apparatus is disclosed. The control method includes rotating the drum at a predetermined first number of rotations to measure the weight of the laundry stored in the drum (a laundry weight measurement step), rotating the drum at a predetermined second number of rotations to determine the magnitude of the dynamic unbalance of the drum (an unbalance measurement step), accelerating the drum to a target number of rotations, which is greater than the first number of rotations and the second number of rotations, when the magnitude of the dynamic unbalance measured at the unbalance measurement step is less than a predetermined reference value (an acceleration step), interrupting the rotation of the drum when the variation per unit time of current supplied to the stator during execution of the acceleration step is equal to or greater than a predetermined reference variation (a first interruption step), rotating the drum at the first number of rotations to determine the weight of the laundry stored in the drum (a laundry weight remeasurement step), and interrupting the rotation of the drum when the deviation between the laundry weight measured at the laundry weight remeasurement step and the laundry weight measured at the laundry weight measurement step is equal to or greater than a predetermined reference deviation (a second interruption step).
