An electronic device comprising: a power supply to supply power; an infrared rays (IR) receiver; a first integrated circuit (IC) to drive the IR receiver based on the power supplied from the supply; and a second IC to supply power to a field-effect transistor (FET), wherein, when a preset control command is received through the IR receiver, the first IC turns on the second IC to drive the FET, which is connected to the second IC and is in a stopped state while the second IC is in a turned-off state, by turning on the second IC to thereby supply power to the electronic device.

Electronic device and control method therefor

A display device includes; a signal receiver configured to receive a control signal in form of infrared light, from a remote controller; and a controller configured to: control the signal receiver, based on the control signal received by the signal receiver, control the signal receiver, based on a first state in which the signal receiver is activated according to a preset period smaller than a duration of the control signal; in response to identifying the control signal by the signal receiver that is controlled based on the first state, control the signal receiver, based on a second state in which the signal receiver is activated during a time section longer than the duration of the control signal; and control the display device, based on the control signal identified by the signal receiver.

Display device and method for adjusting power consumption of signal receiver

Disclosed are a display apparatus and a method of controlling the same, the display apparatus including: a plurality of display modules arranged in up and down directions, and configured to switch between a first state, the first state being a folded state and a second state, the second state being an unfolded state; a plurality of joining units each comprising a hinge provided between the plurality of display modules and configured to join adjacent display modules; a driver including a wire supporting the plurality of display modules, and configured to drive the plurality of display modules to switch to the first state or the second state by adjusting a length of the wire; and a pair of coupling guides provided on lateral sides of the plurality of display modules and configured to guide adjacent display modules to switch between the first state and the second state.

Display apparatus and method of controlling the same

A display apparatus is provided. The display apparatus according to an embodiment includes an LED module including a plurality of light emitting diodes, an LED driver including a switching element comprising switching circuitry, the LED driver being configured to change a switching frequency of the switching element based on an intensity of a current provided to the LED module, and a processor configured to generate a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) dimming signal based on pixel information of an input image and provide the signal to the LED driver, wherein the processor is further configured to control the LED driver to increase the switching frequency of the switching element within a dimming duty of the PWM dimming signal by reducing the intensity of the current provide to the LED module based on a pixel value of the input image being less than a threshold value.
