A display device and a method of driving the same are provided. The display device includes a display panel including an active area and a non-active area, a low voltage line configured to supply a low voltage to the display panel, a timing controller configured to output a data signal for displaying an image on the display panel, and a data driver configured to convert the data signal into a data voltage to be supplied to the display panel and output the converted data voltage, wherein the data driver comprises a voltage compensator configured to prepare a compensation voltage for compensating for a rise of the low voltage, reflect the compensation voltage in the data voltage, and output the resultant voltage as a compensation data voltage. Accordingly, the present disclosure has an effect of being able to improve display quality by improving a problem of rising of the low voltage supplied to the display panel.

A light emitting display device can include a display panel configured to display an image; a driver configured to drive the display panel; a controller configured to control the driver; and a defect sensing circuit configured to sense a current through a driving voltage line transmitting a driving voltage for driving of the display panel, and output a sensing value based on the current for determining whether an element in a subpixel of the display panel is defective.

Light emitting display device and driving method thereof

A light emitting display device is disclosed that includes an organic light emitting diode having an anode electrode connected to a first power line and a cathode electrode, a capacitor configured to store a data voltage and having a first electrode and a second electrode, and a driving transistor having a first electrode connected to the cathode electrode of the organic light emitting diode, a gate electrode connected to the first electrode of the capacitor, and a second electrode connected to the second electrode of the capacitor and a second power line. The driving transistor applies an initialization voltage to a node connected to the cathode electrode of the organic light emitting diode and the first electrode of the driving transistor.
