A plasma display apparatus having shortened production time is composed of: a plasma display panel; a chassis base having a front part on which the plasma display panel is installed, and having a back part on which circuit boards including circuits for driving the plasma display panel are installed; and at least one thermal conductive sheet positioned between the plasma display panel and the chassis base, and having an interior on which a cut away portion is formed.

A heat dissipation apparatus for use with a plasma display device and a method of conducting the heat generated in the plasma display panel and the driving ICs of the plasma display device to various surfaces of the device for dissipation to air. A first heat sink is disposed between the plasma display panel and the chassis base. The first heat sink is positioned at a first region where the heat generated from the driver ICs is substantially concentrated. A second heat sink is positioned at a second region between the plasma display panel and the chassis base where the heat generated by the plasma display panel is substantially concentrated. A number of additional thermal conduction media are also used in the various embodiments of the invention.

Heat dissipating apparatus for plasma display device

A plasma display apparatus is capable of enhancing the heat dissipating ability of a plasma display panel, and of reducing the total weight of the plasma display apparatus. The plasma display apparatus comprises a plasma display panel, a frame to which the plasma display panel is attached and by which the plasma display panel is supported, and a boss plate fixed to a rear surface of the frame and fitted with driving circuit boards. The frame is formed in the shape of a rectangular frame which contacts edges of the plasma display panel. A vertical member is vertically disposed in the rectangular frame. The vertical member has wall-mounted bosses which support the total weight of the plasma display apparatus. Other features include a thermally conductive member formed on the rear surface of the frame, and formation of an air passage between the thermally conductive member and the driving circuit boards.

Plasma display apparatus

A plasma display device that effectively emits heat generated at a PDP, efficiently blocks heat transfer from a circuit board to the PDP, and securely fastens the PDP. The plasma display device includes a PDP on which images are displayed, a frame member having an opening and contacting a surface of the PDP, and a heat radiation member disposed in the opening.

A heat dissipator of a signal transmission member for a display apparatus can sufficiently dissipate heat from devices of the signal transmission member and protect the devices, and includes a thermal conductive supporter for dissipating heat generated by a signal transmission member, which transmits electrical signals between a chassis member supporting a panel displaying image and including at least one device and a circuit unit separated from the chassis member to drive the panel. The thermal conductive supporter includes: a base portion formed of a thermal conductive material, and having a side surface contacting the chassis member and another side surface contacting the signal transmission member; and a recess portion oriented on the base portion toward the chassis member so that the at least one device does not contact the base portion.

A plasma display apparatus is provided that enables stable operation of a plasma display panel by accelerating heat dissipation from at least one interior circuit device and preventing degradation of the circuit device. The plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel on which an image is displayed, a chassis base facing the plasma display panel, a plurality of circuit devices operating the plasma display panel, a cabinet housing the plasma display panel, the chassis base, and a heat dissipation means interposed between the at least one circuit device and the cabinet to contact the circuit device.

A heat radiating assembly employable by a plasma display apparatus for radiating heat generated by a signal transmission unit, which transmits electric signals from a circuit unit that drives a plasma display panel and includes an electronic device covered by a protecting member, is provided. The heat radiating assembly may include a heat absorbing member, a heat radiating member, and a heat transferring member. The heat absorbing member may absorb the heat generated by the electronic device and transmitted to the protecting member. The heat radiating member may radiate heat out from the plasma display apparatus. The heat transferring member may transfer the heat from the heat absorbing member to the heat radiating member.

A plasma display apparatus includes a plasma display panel and a chassis base extending substantially parallel to the plasma display panel. The chassis base has a driving circuit mounted thereon in opposition to the plasma display panel. A driver IC faces the chassis base, and is packaged in a film-shaped assembly. A thermal conduction medium is disposed and solidified between the driver IC and the chassis base so as to dissipate the heat generated at the driver IC.

A plasma display device includes a plasma display panel. A chassis base is disposed substantially parallel to the plasma display panel, and a thermal conduction medium is interposed between and closely contacting the plasma display panel and the chassis base. The thermal conduction medium is a composite sheet having a thermal conductivity which is greater in a planar direction of the composite sheet than the thermal conductivity in a thickness direction of the composite sheet.

A Plasma Display Panel (PDP) includes: a panel adapted to display images using a plasma discharge; a chassis base attached to the panel and adapted to support the panel; a circuit board adapted to supply signals to electrodes of the panel; a signal transmission unit adapted to electrically connect the electrodes of the panel to the circuit board, and including at least one circuit device; and a chassis bed adapted to support the signal transmission unit. The chassis bed includes at least a first ventilation hole adapted to facilitate air flow therethrough to remove heat generated by the at least one circuit device. The heat generated by the circuit device can be dissipated effectively, and overheating of the circuit board is prevented, and the circuit board can operate stably.

Plasma display panel (PDP)

A case for covering electronic parts and efficiently discharging heat generated from the electronic parts and a display apparatus including the case are provided. The case includes at least one partition wall partially separating at least an inner space of the case. An entry portion, through which air flows in, and an exit portion, through which the air having flowed in through the entry portion and then having absorbed heat from the electronic parts flows out, are formed in each plane of the case. Each plane is separated by the partition wall.

Case for covering electronic parts and display apparatus including the same

A display apparatus dissipates heat efficiently from a tape carrier package driver integrated circuit providing an address voltage to a display panel. The display apparatus includes a display panel, a chassis base, a driving circuit, an flexible printed circuit electrically connecting electrodes of the display panel to the driving circuit, and a driver integrated circuit connected through the flexible printed circuit to the display panel, the driver integrated circuit providing a voltage selectively to the electrode of the display panel in accordance with signals controlled by the driving circuit. A thermally conductive medium in liquid-phase or gel-phase is placed between the driver integrated circuit and the chassis base. A pressing plate is placed on the outside of the driver integrated circuit opposite to the chassis base, the pressing plate pressing the driver integrated circuit toward the chassis base for good contact and heat dissipation. A thermally conductive medium is placed between the pressing plate and the driver integrated circuit.
