A burn-in socket includes a base, a sliding plate mounted to the base and having a number of pin holes, a number of contacts secured to the base and an actuator mounted on the base. The contacts each comprise a base portion and a pair of arms received in the pin holes of the sliding plate. The actuator includes a frame and a number of actuating portion for driving the sliding plate to move in a transversal direction. The sliding plate includes a number of projections adjacent to contacts. Each projection and the pair of arms of an adjacent contact together define a receiving space and located at three sides of the receiving space, respectively.

Burn-in socket

An IC socket includes a socket body with a plurality of contacts disposed therein, a cover rotatablely coupled to the socket body and at least one slider in the socket body. The socket body defines a receiving space for receiving an IC package, and the cover has a driving member. The slider has one end engageable with the driving member and the other end extending toward the receiving space. When the IC socket is in a close position, the slider touches the IC package or close to the IC package to keep a reliable connection between the IC socket and the IC package.

A socket for electrically connecting an integrated circuit (IC) to a print circuit board (PCB) comprises an insulating housing and a plurality of contacts received therein, each contact comprises a first contact connecting to the IC, a second contact electrically contacting with the PCB and a flexible member connecting the first contact and the second contact. The contact has a simple configuration, it could reduce the electrical inductance effectively, it also could be closely arranged to accord with the requirement of high-frequency circuitry and could perform rapid transmission of signal between the IC and the PCB.

A socket connector for settling an integrated circuit module therein and connecting a sensor therewith comprises a base, a center plate mounted on the base, a plurality of contacts retained on the center plate and a retaining member. The base defines a slot for receiving the retaining member and a fastening hole for receiving the sensor, the retaining member comprises a blocking abutting against the sensor received in the fastening hole and a spring urging the blocking toward the sensor.

An IC socket for electrically connecting an integrated circuit module to a printed circuit board comprises: an insulative housing defining two pairs of sidewalls, said sidewalls forming a recessed area defining a plurality of passageways therein, one of the sidewalls of the housing forms a receiving channel and a fastening channel communicating with the receiving channel; a plurality of conductive contacts received in corresponding passageways; and a fastener to be mounted in the fastening channel, the improvement wherein: a separate sleeve is interferentially disposed in the fastening channel and the fastener is screwed in the sleeve.

The socket connector assembly () comprises a socket connector (), an IC package () installed upon the socket connector, a heat sink () mounted above the IC package, an actuator (') detachably attached to the socket connector, a retention mechanism () mounted on the actuator and securing the heat sink on the actuator, and at least one latch (&#x2032;). The at least one latch comprises a body (&#x2032;). One end () of the body is disposed on a part of the actuator. A latching portion (&#x2032;) is formed on another end of the body, for being directly attached to a part of the socket connector. Thus the at least one latch holds the actuator on the socket connector.

An electrical connector includes a housing (). A floor () is defined in a middle of the housing and a plurality of side walls () is defined therearound. The side walls and the floor cooperatively define a substantially rectangular cavity () therebetween. A plurality of passageways () is defined in the floor for receiving a corresponding number of electrical contacts () therein. Each contact includes an arm () extending beyond the floor for contacting with corresponding contacting pad of the LGP (). All the arms extend in a plurality of rows, parallel to one diagonal of the floor, and the arms in a same row are arranged side by side. Each passage includes an upper receiving portion extending into an adjacent passage in the same line, therefore, the passages in the same line are stringed, and a continuous support member is formed between two rows of stringed passages.

A land grid array (LGA) socket is adapted to receive an IC module () and mounted on a PCB (). The socket () includes an insulative housing () having a plurality of passageways () and a plurality of electrical terminals () received in the passageways. Each of the terminals includes a retention portion (), a pressing arm () bent slantwise and extending upwardly from an end of the retention portion, and a contacting ann () bent slaniwise and extending downwardly from another end of the retention portion. At least one connecting plate () connects the pressing urn and the contacting arm, the connecting plate is separate from the retention portion, thereby decreasing impedance of the terminal.

An IC socket () includes an insulative housing () mounted on a burn-in board, a plurality of conductive contacts () received in the housing. The housing defines a recessed area () bounded by two pairs of sidewalls (), the recessed area defining a plurality of passageways therein. One of the sidewalls fabricates a receiving channel () substantially parallel to an upper surface of the recessed area and a fastening channel () substantially perpendicularly communicating with the receiving channel. A bolt () is screwed in the fastening channel. When the IC socket is used, a sensor () is received in the receiving channel and restricted in the proper position by the bolt screwed in the fastening channel.

A burn-in socket assembly () includes a base () receiving an IC and a number of contacts, a slider member () mounted onto the base and capable of moving along the base, a pair of actuation members () assembled onto the base, and a cover () assembled onto the actuation members and capable of moving up and down. The base forms a pair of receiving elements () on front and end sides respectively. Each receiving element includes a body portion (), a pair of spaced top portion () each having slits () extending therethrough and an aperture () extending therethrough. A sensor is received in the aperture to provide signals to a controller during being operated at high temperature. The controller can reliably control the temperature of the whole assembly in light of the signals from the sensor, thereby avoiding damage of the IC by exorbitant temperature.

An electrical connector assembly includes a first connector (), a second connector () and a transfer member (). The first connector has a first housing () and a number of first contacts () received in the first housing. An Integrated Circuit chip (not shown) electrically connects with the first contacts. The second connector has a second housing () and a number of second contacts () received in the second housing. The transfer member is disposed between the first connector and the second connector. The transfer member includes a first interface () and a second interface (). The first interface is formed with a number of first conductive portions () connecting the first contacts. The second interface provides a number of second conductive portions () electrically connecting the second contacts. Each first conductive portion correspondingly electrically connects one second conductive portion, and a distance between the adjacent first conductive portions is smaller than the distance between the adjacent second conductive portions.

An electrical connector () mounted on a substrate () defining holes () includes a base () and first and second terminals () attached to the base. Each terminal has a retention portion () and a pair of curved arms () extending from opposite ends of the retention portion. The pair of curved arms are respectively formed with upper and lower contact portions (). Each terminal has a securing portion () and upper and lower mating portions () extending from opposite ends of the securing portion. Certain second terminals each have a bent portion () to make the pitch between the lower mating portions of two adjacent second terminals larger than that between the upper contact portions of two adjacent first terminals, thereby conveniently and safely drilling the holes of the substrate in which the lower mating portions are secured.

A test connector ( ) includes a connector body ( ) with terminals therein, a lid ( ), four guiding mechanisms ( ), and two pressing mechanisms ( ).
