An example device may comprise a metallic chassis having a tiered surface comprising an upper face, a connecting face, and a lower face. The connecting face may be arranged between the upper face and the lower face such that the upper face and the connecting face define a raised area. The device may also comprise an antenna cavity formed in the raised area and having an opening in the upper face and the connecting face.

An example of a device including a display panel and a border region around the display panel is provided. The device includes a cover disposed on the display panel and the border region. The cover is to protect the display panel and the border region. The device also includes an antenna with a keep-out area disposed within a portion of the border region. The device includes a bezel disposed in the keep-out area to support the cover. The bezel includes a partially filled portion to reduce a resonance shift of the antenna.

Antennas for metal housings

An antenna and cap, in an example implementation, can include a system, comprising a computing device, a clearance region coupled to the computing device, and an antenna comprising a first antenna portion and a second antenna portion. The first antenna portion can be coupled to the computing device and to the clearance region, and the second antenna portion can be coupled to the clearance region. The system can include a first cap coupled to the second antenna portion via a first interconnection, and a second cap coupled to the second antenna portion via a second interconnection. The first cap and the second cap can be coupled to the computing device.

Antenna and cap

An example device includes a substrate and first and second antennas disposed on the substrate. The first antenna includes a first feed arm to connect to a circuit and a pair of extended arms extending in opposite directions from the first feed arm. The first antenna is co-located with a secondary antenna area. The secondary antenna area is bounded by the first feed arm and by a first extended arm of the pair of extended arms. The secondary antenna area is further to be bounded by a display and by an outer edge of the substrate. The second antenna is disposed within the secondary antenna area and includes a second feed arm to connect to the circuit. The second antenna further includes a coupled arm distant from the second feed arm, the coupled arm positioned between the second feed arm and the first feed arm of the first antenna.

Co-located antennas with coupled arms

An antenna system, in one example implementation, can include antenna portions including a first portion of the antenna to receive a radio frequency (RF) signal. The antenna can include a second portion capacitively coupled to the first portion, wherein the capacitive coupling of the second portion to the first portion increases the high-band resonances. The antenna can include a third portion of the antenna connected to a connector. The third portion can be capacitively coupled to the first portion to excite wide low-band resonances and high-band resonances. The connector can be a ground for the third portion.

Antenna portions

Example implementations relate to separate antennae. In one example, separate antennae can include an antenna system having a first antenna to receive and transmit signals in a first frequency band, a second antenna to receive signals in a second frequency band and transmit and receive signals in a third frequency band, and a third antenna to receive signals in a fourth frequency band, where each of the first antenna, the second antenna, and the third antenna are physically separate and distinct.

Examples described herein include examples of an antenna that includes a planar conductive body disposed in a first plane, a signal source connection disposed on the planar conductive body, a direct feed antenna arm coupled to the signal source connection and disposed in a second plane parallel to the first plane, a coupled antenna arm disposed in the second plane and in proximity to a portion of the direct feed antenna arm, and a conductive interconnect element coupled to a region of the planar conductive body disposed in the first plane and the coupled antenna arm disposed in the second plane.

Wideband antennas

Example implementations relate to a triband antenna. In one example, a triband antenna system as described herein can include a grounding system including a conductive housing of a wireless communication device and a ground slot structure. The triband antenna system may further include a triband antenna coupled to the grounding system, wherein the triband antenna includes a loop element coupled to the conductive housing, a feeding element, and a parasitic element located within a threshold distance of the feeding element.
