A display device may include a display panel displaying an image and including pixels, a driving voltage controller including an overcurrent detector generating an alert signal when a driving current of the display panel is greater than a reference current, a load calculator calculating a load of input image data in response to the alert signal and generating a load escape signal when the load is greater than a reference load, a vertical blank counter generating a vertical blank count value by counting a time of a vertical blank period in response to the alert signal and the load escape signal, and generating a counter escape signal when the vertical blank count value is greater than a reference count value, and a driving voltage generator altering a driving voltage provided to the display panel in response to the alert signal and the counter escape signal.

Display device having a driving voltage controller and method of driving the same

A display apparatus includes: a display panel; a driving controller, which receives input image data including a plurality of normal image frames and a plurality of black image frames, receives a flag indicating a type of each of frames included in the input image data, generates intermediate image data by adjusting a grayscale of the input image data based on the input image data and the flag, and generates a data signal based on the intermediate image data where the type includes a normal image frame and a black image frame; and a data driver, which generates a data voltage based on the data signal and outputs the data voltage to the display panel.

Display apparatus and method of driving the same

A display device includes: a display panel including first and second wirings; a control circuit board spaced apart from the display panel and including a power management circuit which provides a driving voltage to the first and second wirings; a first cable coupled to the control circuit board and electrically connecting the power management circuit and the first wiring; a second cable coupled to the control circuit board and electrically connecting the power management circuit and the second wiring; an abnormal coupling detector connected between the first and second wirings and generating first and second protection signals based on a difference between a first voltage of the first wiring and a second voltage of the second wiring; and a voltage supply controller counting the first and second protection signals, and providing a shutdown signal to the power management circuit such that the power management circuit stops providing the driving voltage.

A display device includes a display panel which displays an image based on input image data, a driving controller which generates a voltage control signal for adjusting a first power voltage applied to the display panel in an (N+M)-th frame based on a maximum grayscale value of the input image data of an N-th frame, where N is a positive integer, and M is a positive integer, and a power voltage generator which senses a power current applied to the display panel in the (N+M)-th frame, generates a second power voltage based on the voltage control signal, and controls a voltage level of the first power voltage based on the second power voltage and a current level of the power current.

Display device and method of driving the same

A display device may include a display panel which displays an image based on a data voltage, a driving controller including a net power control setter which determines a scale factor for adjusting a gray scale of (N+1)frame data based on a load of Nframe data and a net power control reference value, where the driving controller generates a data signal based on input image data, and N is a natural number greater than or equal to 2, a data driver which converts the data signal into the data voltage and outputs the data voltage to the display panel, and a power supply voltage generator which senses a power supply current applied to the display panel in an Nframe and generates a power supply voltage based on a current level of the power supply current.

A method of measuring light emission of a display panel and a method of compensating light emission of a display panel are disclosed. In one aspect the method of measuring light emission includes setting a location of a camera such that a imaging range area of the camera includes a first divided region among a plurality of divided regions, wherein the display panel is larger than the imaging range area of the camera and includes the divided regions, and wherein each of the divided regions is smaller than the imaging range area; first displaying a recognition pattern image on the first divided region. The method also includes shooting the first divided region by the camera so as to generate a recognition pattern shot; second displaying a single-color image on the first divided region.
