The present invention provides an aerogel blanket including a blanket base, aerogel coupled on the surface of the blanket base, and aerogel located at a space between the blanket bases, the aerogel coupled on the surface of the blanket base is 50 wt % based on the total weight of aerogel, wherein the aerogel blanket has the number of aerogel particles separated from the aerogel blanket ranging from 13,600 to 90,000 per ft, when vibrating the aerogel blanket at a frequency of 1 Hz to 30 Hz for 2 hours to 10 hours.

Provided is an aerogel blanket and a method for producing the same, wherein a catalyzed sol I sufficiently and uniformly impregnated into a blanket in an impregnation tank, and the catalyzed sol is allowed to stay in the impregnation tank for a specific time to control fluidity while achieving a viscosity at which the catalyzed sol can be easily introduced into the blanket, thereby forming a uniform aerogel in the blanket. As a result, the uniformity of pore structure and thermal insulation performance of an aerogel blanket are improved, the loss of raw materials is reduced through the impregnation process, the occurrence of process problems is reduced, and the generation of dust is reduced.

The present disclosure provides a silica aerogel-including blanket including a substrate for a blanket; and a silica aerogel and an opacifying agent locating at least one of on a surface of and inside the substrate for a blanket, wherein the opacifying agent is a second particulate with inorganic particles of a first particulate being aggregated, and includes 1 to 5 of the inorganic particles per unit volume of 1 &#x3bc;m, and a method for preparing the same. More specifically, the present invention provides a method for producing a low-dust, high insulation aerogel blanket, wherein a plate type Mg(OH).MgO.SiOpowder is added to a silica sol, thereby being capable of reducing the generation of dust with excellent flame retardancy and thermal conductivity, and an aerogel blanket produced thereby.

The present invention relates to a method of preparing a high hydrophobic silica aerogel having a high specific surface area and a low tap density, and a hydrophobic silica aerogel prepared thereby. The method of preparing a hydrophobic silica aerogel according to the present invention may have good productivity and economic efficiency, because preparation time is reduced by simultaneously performing surface modification, gelation, and solvent substitution in a single step, and may control a degree of hydrophobicity of the prepared silica aerogel by controlling a surface modification reaction by including a step of adding ammonium hydroxide. Thus, the preparation method according to the present invention and the hydrophobic silica aerogel are suitable for industries that need the method and the hydrophobic silica aerogel, particularly, industries that need a silica aerogel having high hydrophobicity or industries that need a silica aerogel having various degrees of hydrophobicity.

Provided is a method for preparing a hydrophobic silica aerogel by using a Soxhlet extraction, and a hydrophobic silica aerogel prepared by using the method. Since the preparation method according to the present invention may simultaneously perform washing and drying of a hydrophobic silica wet gel as well as solvent substitution and may remove an extraction solvent without an additional separation process, a hydrophobic silica aerogel having low tap density and high specific surface area may be easily prepared.

Provided are a method for preparing a hydrophobic silica aerogel by the combined use of a first surface modifier and a second surface modifier, and a hydrophobic silica aerogel prepared by using the method. A hydrophobic silica aerogel having excellent physical properties and pore characteristics as well as a high degree of hydrophobicity may be prepared with high efficiency by the preparation method according to the present invention.
