In a method and an apparatus for coating an object with photosensitive material, a roller stabilizes a supply amount of the photosensitive material and is disposed between the object and a slit coater, so that the stabilized photosensitive material is supplied to the object through the slit coater. The photosensitive material includes additives for controlling amount of a solid powder, a boiling point and a surface tension thereof. Accordingly, the photosensitive material may be uniformly coated on the object.

Method and apparatus for coating a photosensitive material

A color filter composition comprises a mixture of a binder and a monomer in a predetermined ratio, a pigment, and a solvent. The predetermined ratio is a ratio of the binder to the monomer and ranges from about 50:50 to about 60:40. The color filter composition further comprises a solid powder having a weight percent in the color filter composition ranging from about 12% to about 18%, wherein the solid powder includes the pigment. The pigment has a weight percent in the solid powder ranging from about 28% to about 38%.

Color filter composition, method and apparatus for manufacturing a color filter having the same

A cleaning unit of this invention includes a body and a cleaning member. The body includes an upper face. The upper face subsides to form a receiving recession for receiving a slit nozzle of the slit coater. The receiving recession includes a sidewall and a bottom face. The sidewall includes a first injection hole. A cleaning material is sprayed via the injection hole. The cleaning member eliminates dregs of the material attached on the slit nozzle of the slit coater. The cleaning member is attached on the bottom face of the receiving recession. According to the present invention, the slit nozzle is effectively cleared, so that the substrate is uniformly coated with the photosensitive layer, and the photosensitive layer is not scratched.

Cleaning unit, slit coating apparatus having the same and method of coating substrate

A light-blocking black matrix is applied to a transparent substrate, then several coats of negative photoresists, with optimal spectral properties, are applied over the black matrix to create red, blue and green color filters. Then, the surface of the black matrix and the red, blue and green filters are preheated using infrared (IR) rays to remove any residual moisture or gas. Next, the surfaces of the black matrix and color filters are irradiated by ultraviolet (U.V.) rays to remove pigment residue remaining on the black matrix. This is followed by a UV irradiating step in which high-density ozone molecules (O,) are injected into a UV chamber and any final traces of pigment remaining on the surface are dissolved and volatilized in reaction to active oxygen from the ozone.
