A flat panel display device including a display area where an image is displayed and a non-display area located at an outside of the display area includes bank portions arranged in a pattern in the display area and partitioning a plurality of openings, emission elements located in the openings, dummy bank portions formed in the non-display area and integrated therewith, and a sealing passivation layer having a multi-layered structure of organic films and inorganic films alternately arranged, one organic film being located at an interface directly contacting the emission element and one inorganic film located firstly on an outermost portion of the dummy bank portions when the sealing passivation layer extends from the display area to the non-display area.

A top emission type white organic light emitting device (OLED) has a high resolution and a wide color gamut, and a color display apparatus uses the same. The white OLED includes a substrate; a reflective electrode formed on the substrate; an organic light emitting layer formed on the reflective electrode; a semi-transparent electrode formed on the organic light emitting layer; and in the white OLED, a wavelength of a resonating mode determined by an optical thickness between the reflective electrode and semi-transparent electrode is shorter than a shortest wavelength in a visible light region of a white light spectrum generated in the organic light emitting layer.

Thus, the emission elements are prevented from being oxidized or corroded by a harmful material, and in a manner that minimizes additional processes.

A flat panel display device comprises a substrate, an organic light emitting diode formed on the substrate, an inner stack encapsulating the light emitting diode and comprising at least one organic layer and one inorganic layer, and an outer stack deposited to cover the inner stack and comprising at least two polymer layers and an adhesive and bonding layer disposed therebetween to combine the at least two polymer layers and a polymer heat-curing film disposed at an interface of each of the polymer layers and the adhesive and bonding layer and cured by heat treatment. According to the present invention, the flat panel display device and a manufacturing method for the same reliably seals the organic light emitting device and prevents degradation by permeation of external harmful materials, while providing high flexibility and low manufacturing cost.

An organic light emitting display including an ultraviolet protecting layer and a method of manufacturing the same include a lower substrate; an ultraviolet hardening adhesive formed on the lower substrate; a driving unit and a light emitting unit deposited on the lower substrate and surrounded by the ultraviolet hardening adhesive; an encapsulation layer covering the driving unit and light emitting unit and preventing moisture and oxygen penetration from an outside; an upper substrate arranged on the encapsulation layer facing the lower substrate and fixed by the ultraviolet hardening adhesive; and an ultraviolet ray blocking film formed in a region to block the driving unit and the light emitting unit from being irradiated by UV rays radiated to harden the ultraviolet hardening adhesive. The ultraviolet ray blocking film is disposed in the encapsulation layer or on the upper substrate to protect the driving unit and light emitting unit from ultraviolet rays.

The present invention is related to a biochip and a biomolecular detection system using the same. In particular, the biomolecular detection system is capable of detecting biological molecules (biomolecules) such as DNA or protein at a high speed. The biochip comprises a supporting structure, conductive materials aligned vertically on, and associated with, the supporting structure, and biomolecule probes operably linked to the conductive materials. The biomolecular detection system using the biochip may precisely detect biomolecules as well as the density of the biomolecules.

An organic light emitting display and a manufacturing method thereof include an improved encapsulation layer. The encapsulation layer of the organic light emitting display includes an organic layer uniformly covering bank portions and light emitting areas on a substrate; and an inorganic layer formed thicker on the light emitting areas than on the bank portions. In the organic light emitting display, the inorganic layer is thick on the light emitting area in which a sealing ability is required and the bank portion is thin in order to provide flexibility. Therefore, the encapsulation layer can be formed more easily compared to an encapsulation layer on a device in which the organic layer and inorganic layer are alternately formed at least 10 times.

A method of manufacturing a multi-display panel comprises mounting a plurality of display elements on a substrate, covering the substrate and the display elements with a glass cover having walls for partitioning each of the display elements; and cutting the substrate and the glass cover along the walls and separating the display elements to respectively form image units. Thus, the width of a connection portion between the image units is less than half of that in the conventional art and a display image formed by two separate images looks natural.

An LCD panel for a multi-display includes main electrodes disposed on an image display region and include liquid crystals that react to a voltage applied between the main electrodes, and dummy electrodes disposed on regions outside the image display region to prevent the distortion of electric fields of adjacent main electrodes. The dummy electrodes have a width of approximately 5 to 50% of a width of the main electrodes. The dummy electrodes are disposed along edges of the main electrodes in a single row.

A top emission type organic light emitting display includes an organic light emitting diode in which an anode, a light emitting layer and a transparent cathode are successively deposited. The cathode has a sandwiched structure in which a transparent oxide layer is inserted between the metal layers. Exemplary embodiments of the cathode of the present invention have better electric conductivity than a conventional cathode of an organic light emitting diode device, and thus has lower power consumption than a conventional top emission organic light emitting display with similar light transmission.

An organic electroluminescent display ('OELD') includes an organic light-emitting diode ('OLED') panel and a driving panel. The OLED panel includes an image display portion which displays an image using an OLED, and the driving panel includes a driving circuit portion which controls the image display portion. The OLED panel and the driving panel are combined into one body to complete the OELD. The image display portion and the driving circuit portion are electrically connected through pads disposed between the OLED panel and the driving panel, and the OLED panel and the driving panel are fabricated using separate processes, thus preventing the driving panel from being damaged by heat generated in the fabrication process of the OLED panel.
