A wireless headset system for use with, e.g. mobile phones, and which incorporates a wireless headset which communicates with a base station via magnetic inductive coupling or radio frequency signals to dial and send or receive calls via a conventional phone, e.g. a mobile phone, attached to the base station. In one embodiment, the mobile phone is carried in the base station which is worn by the user.

Modular wireless headset system for hands free talking

A universal linear power supply capable of automatically supplying a regulated DC current output from a range of AC input. In one preferred embodiment, interchangeable modular electrical plugs configured to mate with standard AC supplies releasably connect with the power supply. The power supply circuitry comprises a two-winding step-down transformer, a rectifier and a DC/DC step-down buck converter. A projection on selected electrical plugs mechanically engages a switch on the power supply, connecting the primary coils of the transformer either in series or in parallel to accommodate 110 VAC or 220 VAC input. In another preferred embodiment, the invention comprises an electrical plug for accessing VAC input connected, releasably or permanently, to a power supply comprising a linear transformer, a full-wave rectifier and a DC/DC step-down forward converter which is capable of accommodating the full range of standard AC voltage. The interchangeable plugs may further comprise a releasable locking means mechanically connected to the casing and designed to engage the electrical plug to maintain the plug in an operative position.

Universal linear power supply

A battery charger having multiple charging stations that automatically supplies charging current to one of the stations depending on which battery is inserted. The charger has electrical contacts that mate with the charging contacts of the primary battery and are movable between a first position and a second position. When in the second position, the charging circuitry delivers current to the primary battery and when in the first position, delivers current to an auxiliary battery.

Mechanical charging selection apparatus

A compact power supply features a package with an included volume of less than about 250 cubic centimeters, a switching power supply contained in the package, the power supply capable of providing more than about 10 watts of power, and connections from input power to and for output from the power supply. The power supply can be configured on three circuit boards, in a U-shaped configuration. The boards may be partially or fully potted to provide improved thermal performance and safety. The electronic components are carefully selected and matched for maximum output performance.
