Provided is a cochlear implant device with a glasses shape. The disclosed cochlear implant device improves body wearability and aesthetic effects by designing the cochlear implant device to have a glasses shape, and achieves alignment of a receiver coil implanted into the body and a transmission coil outside the body without using a magnet because the transmission coil is integrally provided at an end of a glasses temple such that a region of a body with which the transmission coil comes into contact is changed according to a bending degree of the glasses temple.

A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal polymer-based electrode array for a neural implant, according to the present invention, can comprise the steps of: forming a seed layer on a liquid crystal polymer substrate; forming a plating mold having a pattern selectively exposing a part of the upper part of the seed layer; plating an electrode material on the exposed seed layer by using the plating mold as a plating barrier layer; forming an electrode by removing the plating mold and the seed layer therebelow; embedding the electrode by compressing a liquid crystal polymer cover layer on the electrode; and forming an electrode site exposing the upper part of the electrode by selectively removing a part of the liquid crystal polymer cover layer.

Liquid crystal polymer-based electrode array and package for neural implant, and manufacturing method therefor

The present invention relates to a cochlear implant apparatus, and more particularly, to a cochlear implant apparatus capable of controlling the sensitivity or selectivity of sound through actuators. In accordance with an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a cochlear implant apparatus for active feedback control which is inserted into the human body and configured to detect a sound in each frequency band includes a sensor unit configured to detect vibration according to a sound and generate an electrical signal corresponding to a magnitude of the vibration and actuators disposed in the sensor unit and each configured to react to the electrical signal and to control sensitivity according to the magnitude of the sound or the selectivity of a sound detected in each frequency band.

Cochlear implant apparatus for active feedback control and active feedback control method for the same

The invention relates a transmitter for transmitting data in bio-implantable medical devices, comprising: an activation unit which transmits, to a receiver, a predetermined number of frame bits which indicate the start of data transmission so as to activate the receiver; a preamble state notification unit which transmits, at the state where the receiver is activated or during data transmission to the receiver, a preamble data signal for turning the receiver into a preamble state; and a synchronization unit which transmits synchronization data for synchronization between the transmitter and the receiver in the preamble state.

Data transceiver and data-transceiving method for bio-implantable medical devices

Disclosed herein is a micro-electrode array package including a micro-electrode array comprising: a substrate section including a liquid crystal polymer; an electrode section collecting and transferring bio-signals; and a cover section insulating and protecting the electrode section and including a liquid crystal polymer, wherein the electrode section is disposed in contact with one surface of the substrate section, the cover section is adhered in contact with the surface of the substrate section on which the electrode section is disposed, and a space independent from the external environment is formed between the substrate section and the cover section adhered thereto. Disclosed herein too is a method for manufacturing a micro-electrode array package, including: forming alignment holes in a substrate section including a liquid crystal polymer and a cover section including a liquid crystal polymer; forming site window holes for an electrode section-exposure in the cover section; forming an electrode section on one surface of the substrate section; aligning the substrate section and the cover section by the alignment holes, and adhering the substrate section and the cover section with each other; and cutting the substrate section and the cover section adhered thereto to provide an outer shape.
