Provided is an organic light emitting diode that is highly efficient and has a long lifespan. The organic light emitting diode includes a carbazole-based compound for improving light emission efficiency. In certain embodiments an electron transport layer can include an anthraces-based compound. The organic light emitting diode may be included in a flat display diode including a thin film transistor (TFT).

Organic light emitting diode

An organic light emitting device including a plurality of organic layers between a first electrode and an emitting layer, wherein the organic layer includes an electron blocking layer. In one embodiment, a first organic layer, an electron blocking layer, a second organic layer and an emitting layer are formed on the first electrode. The electron blocking layer has a Lowest Unoccupied Molecular Orbital (LUMO) level which is lower than that of the first organic layer. Thus, the electron blocking layer traps excess electrons injected from the emitting layer, thereby improving lifetime characteristics of the OLED.

The organic light emitting display device includes a first pixel region emitting a first color, a second pixel region emitting a second color different from the first color, a first layer formed over the first and second pixel regions, and having at least one of a hole injection layer and a hole transport layer, and a second layer formed over the first and second pixel regions, and having hole injectivity higher than the first layer, wherein the first and second layers are sequentially deposited in the first pixel region, and the second and first layers are sequentially deposited in the second pixel region.

Organic light emitting display device

An organic light emitting diode (OLED) and a method of fabricating the same are provided. In the OLED, a second electron transport layer having an absolute value of a lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) energy level smaller than that of a first electron transport layer is formed between a second electrode and the first electron transport layer, so that the second electron transport layer can suppress injection and transport of electrons under a low voltage condition to maintain a low current density. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent (or block) an element from emitting light when representing the color black. The OLED includes an emission layer on the first electrode, the first electron transport layer on the emission layer, the second electron transport layer on the first electron transport layer, and the second electrode on the second electron transport layer.

Organic light emitting diode and method of fabricating the same

An organic light emitting display apparatus includes a first substrate, a plurality of organic light emitting pixels formed on the substrate, a second substrate bonded to the substrate to seal the organic light emitting pixels. A black matrix layer is formed on a surface of the second substrate facing the first substrate and provides a plurality of openings. One of the openings and one of the pixels are aligned. The pixel has a first edge and a second edge and the opening has a first edge and a second edge. The first edge of the pixel is closer to the first edge of the opening than the second edge of the opening. The two edges of the opening are interposed between the two edges of the pixels when viewed from a direction perpendicular to the surface. Where L is an imaginary straight line passing the first edge of the pixel and the second edge of the opening in an imaginary plane perpendicular to a direction in which the edges extend, the imaginary line L and the first surface form an acute angle which is greater than about 30&#xb0; and smaller than about 45&#xb0;.
