Disclosed herein are a broadcast signal transmission/reception method using multiple antennas and layered-division multiplexing and an apparatus for the same. A broadcast signal transmission apparatus includes a Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Bit-Interleaved Coded Modulation (BICM) unit for dividing enhanced layer data into two enhanced layer signals having different polarizations, a combination unit for generating a multiplexed signal corresponding to a first transmitting antenna by combining a core layer signal corresponding to core layer data with a first enhanced layer signal, and transmission signal generation units for generating a first transmission signal, corresponding to the multiplexed signal and transmitted through the first transmitting antenna, and a second transmission signal, corresponding to a second enhanced layer signal and transmitted through a second transmitting antenna.

Broadcast signal transmission/reception method using multiple antennas and layered-division multiplexing and apparatus for the same

Disclosed herein are a method for transmitting a broadcast signal for signaling information about a combination of Layered-Division Multiplexing (LDM) technology and Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) technology and an apparatus using the method. The method includes generating first signaling information indicating whether MIMO technology is applied to an enhanced layer by LDM technology, generating second signaling information indicating an MIMO application method when the MIMO technology is applied to the enhanced layer, and generating a broadcast signal using the first signaling information and the second signaling information.

Apparatus for transmitting broadcast signal for signaling information about combination of LDM and MIMO and method using the same

Disclosed herein are a method for channel decoding using noise level correction in a high-speed mobile reception environment and an apparatus for the same. The method includes estimating, by a signal receiver that is based on OFDM and is moving at high speed, Inter-Carrier Interference (ICI) power for received signal power based on the movement speed of the signal receiver; calculating, by the signal receiver, a Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) for a received signal using an estimate of the ICI power; and decoding, by the signal receiver, a channel code based on a Log Likelihood Ratio (LLR) per bit, calculated based on the SNR, and the received signal.

Provided are an apparatus and method for controlling program conversion according to program protection information. The method for controlling conversion of a broadcasting program includes: demultiplexing a broadcasting program into broadcasting program data and program protection information; encrypting the broadcasting program data based on distribution condition of the program protection information when recordation of the broadcasting program data is requested; and recording the encrypted broadcasting program data.
