An organic light emitting display device is provided to avoid color change due to a viewing direction. The organic light emitting display includes a light compensation layer having a refractive index different than that of an insulating layer. The organic light emitting display may be disposed at the side to which light emitted from an organic light emitting layer is entered to change the path and phase of light, thereby coinciding cavity peak phases for each wavelength of white light emitted from an organic light emitting unit.

The device also includes a transverse bank extending between the first longitudinal bank and the second longitudinal bank. Sidewalls of the longitudinal banks and the transverse bank slope outwardly. The transverse bank has a height which is less than a height of the longitudinal banks. A method of forming the device utilizes nozzle coating or ink-jet coating, and a specially configured mask for producing the banks of differing heights.

Dual panel-type organic electroluminescent display device and method of fabricating the same

An electro-luminescent display and a method of manufacturing thereof prevents the formation of a barrier interface between the anode electrode and the electro-luminescent layer by placing the electro-luminescent layer directly on the anode electrode so that there is no need to etch a subsidiary layer so that the electro-luminescent layer and the anode electrode have excellent electrical contact. The elimination of this etching step prevents damage to the anode electrode caused by collision of ions with the anode electrode during the etching process. Further, etch remainders or contaminant particles that exist in the etchant gas are prevented from accumulating on the anode electrode. Thus, the charge carriers of the anode are easily transported across the interface between the anode electrode and the electro-luminescent layer so as to greatly improve the expected life span, the brightness, and the efficiency of the electro-luminescent display.

A driving circuit in an organic electroluminescent device includes a gate driver unit for sequentially outputting a control signal to select gate lines in a luminescent array unit and a current driver unit for supplying picture data to a data lines in the luminescent array unit corresponding to the gate lines selected by the gate driver unit and selectively driving organic electroluminescent devices of the selected line. The driving circuit includes a minimum gray level judgment unit for determining whether the picture data is of a predetermined minimum gray level; and a switching unit for receiving a control signal according to the determination made by the minimum gray level judgment unit and for selectively supplying a reference voltage or a reference current to the selectively driven organic electroluminescent devices.

The driving circuit for the active matrix organic LED generates the video signal applied to the pixel for displaying the respective RGB colors, using the power voltages and gamma reference voltages which are independent according to the respective RGB colors and accordingly the pixel can be driven exactly as described using organic substances having different RGB characteristics, thus to improve the quality of the image.
