Provided are an electrode unit and a method for manufacturing the electrode unit. The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a secondary battery. The method comprises: a first process (S) of manufacturing an incomplete electrode assembly; a second process (S) of partially pressing the incomplete electrode assembly to manufacture a complete electrode assembly in which a bonding portion and a nonbonding portion coexist; a third process (S) of accommodating the complete electrode assembly into a case; a fourth process (S) of injecting an electrolyte through an opening of the case to impregnate the electrolyte into the electrode assembly; a fifth process (S) of sealing an unsealed surface in which the opening of the case is formed to manufacture a secondary battery; and a sixth process (S) of heating and pressing an entire surface of the secondary battery to bond the nonbonding portion of the interface between the electrode and the separator.

The present invention relates to swelling tape for filling a gap and its use. The swelling tape is, for example, applied between gaps in which a fluid is present, thereby being deformed into a three-dimensional shape to fill the gap and fix an object separated by gaps as needed.

The present invention relates to a cap assembly and a battery including the same. More particularly, the present invention relates to a cap assembly for a cylindrical secondary battery, in which the support unit of a current interrupt device (CID) is seated in the inclined portion or the terraced portion of a gasket and thus the battery is dually sealed, thereby preventing the leakage of an electrolyte, and a cylindrical secondary battery including the cylindrical secondary battery. The cap assembly of the present invention is dually sealed for the leakage of an electrolyte. Accordingly, there is an advantage in that the safety of the battery can be greatly improved because the electrolyte is rarely leaked although the battery is shocked because of dropping.

Dual sealing cap assembly and cylindrical secondary battery including the same

An electrode assembly and a battery are provided. The electrode assembly may be effectively fixed inside a can as a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape attached to an outer circumferential surface of the electrode assembly is formed into a 3D shape by an electrolyte. Thus, the electrode assembly does not move and rotate inside the can due to external vibration or impact and damage of welded regions of a tab or disconnection of inner circuits can be prevented.

Disclosed herein is a cap assembly loaded on an open upper end of a cylindrical container of a battery configured to have a structure in which an electrode assembly (jelly roll) of a cathode/separator/anode structure is mounted in the cylindrical container, the cap assembly including a safety vent connected to a current interruptive device (CID) for safety, a protruding top cap connected to the safety vent along an outer circumference thereof, and a gasket mounted at an outer circumference of the top cap, wherein a cathode tab is attached to a cathode active material-uncoated portion of the cathode by welding and the gasket is provided with at least one groove depressed upward from an outer circumference of a lower end of the gasket for easy welding between the CID and the cathode tab at the time of manufacturing the battery.

Cap assembly having improved manufacturing processability and cylindrical battery comprising same

A tape for fixing an electrode assembly and a method of manufacturing a battery are provided. The tape for fixing an electrode assembly can effectively fix an electrode assembly in a can by realizing a 3D shape by means of an electrolyte. Thus, the tape can be useful in preventing the electrode assembly from moving and rotating inside a can by external vibration or impact and also preventing damage of welded regions of a tab or disconnection of inner circuits.

A cap assembly of a cylindrical rechargeable battery includes an integrated gasket obtained by integrating a first gasket covering a top cap, a PTC element, and a safety vent and a second gasket covering a CID. The rechargeable battery including the cap assembly has the advantages of increasing a contact area between a safety vent and a gasket by integrating the existing dual-gasket structure to thereby increase a sealing effect, increasing a short circuit reactivity of the CID by freely changing the gasket structure according to the diameter of the current interrupting member to thereby improve stability, simplify components, and reduce a production unit cost.
