A video processing method and apparatus for a liquid crystal display (LCD) device is disclosed. The video processing method for the LCD device includes detecting noise by comparing data of a previous frame with data of a current frame, if the noise is detected, removing the noise from the current frame data, and outputting the resultant current frame data having no noise together with the previous frame data, and comparing the previous frame data with the resultant current frame data having no noise in a lookup table, selecting overdriving data corresponding to the comparison result, and outputting the selected overdriving data.

Method and apparatus for processing video data of liquid crystal display device

A method of driving a liquid crystal display device includes multiplying a frame frequency of an inputted current frame to generate a multiplied odd-numbered frame and a multiplied even-numbered frame; determining whether said current frame is a still image frame or a dynamic image frame; detecting an edge area at which a motion blur occurs from the multiplied odd-numbered frame and the multiplied even-numbered frame; converting gray level values of pixels positioned at the detected edge area at the multiplied odd-numbered frame and the multiplied even-numbered frame; and continuously outputting the multiplied odd-numbered still image frame and the multiplied even-numbered still image frame or continuously outputting the multiplied odd-numbered dynamic image frame and the multiplied even-numbered dynamic image frame having the converted gray level values in accordance with the determined result. Liquid crystal display and driving method thereof

A liquid crystal display device includes a data transition part to compare a number of transitions between a previous data and a current data and to compare a number of transitions between the current data and a next data to determine whether or not the current data is to be inverted in accordance with a comparison result thereof, and to determine whether or not the current data is to be inverted in accordance with a high level number difference of the data, thereby generating a reverse signal when the current data is inverted, a memory to store a data from the data transition part, a data reverse transition part to reversely convert the data from the memory using the reverse signal, a lookup table to compare the current data and the previous frame data reversely converted by the data reverse transition part to select a modulated data and a display drive circuit to display the data from the lookup table on a liquid crystal display panel.
