The present disclosure relates to an apparatus and method for optimizing inverse tone mapping on basis of a single image to reconstruct into a high quality High Dynamic Range (HDR) image using a Low Dynamic Range (LDR) image and a recording medium for performing the method, and includes inputting a LDR image to Inverse Tone Mapping (ITM) operator, inputting a result value by the ITM operator to Tone Mapping (TM) operator, comparing a result value by the TM operator with a threshold for HDR luminance determination, and selecting the result value by the TM operator which is smaller than the threshold as an HDR image.

Provided are a method and an apparatus for encoding images using template matching and a method and an apparatus for decoding images. The method for encoding the images can determine a template of an encoding target block and can determine a matching search target image for performing a matching search with the determined template among the recovered reference images. In addition, an optimum prediction block can be determined on the basis of the determined matching search target image and the template of the encoding target block.

The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for processing video signals, the method comprising: decoding a current frame of a video signal in block units to generate a restored frame, and acquiring first and second flags to acquire a filter coefficient which is adaptively determined from the video signal for each slice on the basis of flag information, or performing deblocking filtering with a predetermined filter coefficient. The present invention relates to a video signal processing method which includes an inter-frame prediction method that determines a motion vector, and a method for performing inter-frame prediction for a residual image. The method for processing video signals can increase the compression encoding efficiency by performing accurate motion prediction and residual image prediction, and can improve the quality of a restored image by removing distortion and performing a filtering for restoring an image that is close to the original image.

Method and apparatus for processing video signals

Disclosed is an apparatus and method for estimating a channel capacity of an end-to-end terminal. The channel capacity estimating method of the end-to-end terminal includes calculating an average value of channel capacities for each size of data packets, the data packets varying in size, measuring an actual channel capacity with respect to the data packets, and deriving a linear model of a channel capacity based on the size of the data packets using the average value of the channel capacities and the actual channel capacity.

Apparatus and method for estimating channel capacity of end-to-end terminal

A server and a terminal enabling channel capacity estimation in a High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) network and a method of controlling the server and the terminal are provided. More particularly, when transmitting data between both terminals in an HSDPA network, a server end may transmit a packet pair of the same size and a client end may measure a time difference between the packet pair and thereby proceed filtering. Through this, it is possible to estimate the channel capacity. Therefore, it is possible to prevent data transmission from exceeding the channel capacity in the HSDPA to thereby prevent a packet loss and to effectively use a channel.
