The projector according to an exemplary embodiment includes an optical system which forms, expands, and projects the image, and includes at least one light source; a light source dissipation unit for dissipating heat generated by the light source; a plurality of circuit boards for operating the projector; an intake unit having an intake opening where external air is received; an exhaust unit having an exhaust opening where the received air is expelled; and a flow path dividing unit which divides a cooling flow path formed between the intake opening and the exhaust opening into an upper cooling flow path and a lower cooling flow path, wherein the light source dissipation unit is placed on the upper cooling flow path and at least one of the plurality of circuit boards is placed on the lower cooling flow path.

Projector and display apparatus having the same

An image projecting apparatus includes a main body casing comprising an inlet provided to a lower part thereof, and an outlet spaced from the inlet. A heat generating part generates heat in an inner part of the main body casing. A cooling duct coupled to the main body casing communicates with the inlet and the outlet, and has a channel guiding cooling air drawn in through the inlet to the heat generating part and accommodates the heat generating part therein. Thus, an image projecting apparatus is provided having a simplified cooling configuration for cooling a heat generating part, thereby improving cooling efficiency, and substantially reducing noise and costs.

A fan assembly including a fan, a supporting case to cover an outer surface of the fan and to support the fan, and an anti vibration member interposed between the fan and the supporting case to prevent a vibration occurring in the fan from being transmitted to the supporting case.

A reflection type projector includes a light source, a polarization beam splitter for polarizing light emitted from the light source, a display device disposed next to the polarization beam splitter for forming an image, a projection lens unit for projecting an image reflected by the display device, a thermoelectric element installed such that the front surface thereof is in contact with the rear surface of the display device, a heat sink installed at the rear surface of the thermoelectric element, a heat pipe of which one end is connected to the heat sink, and a heat radiating plate connected to the other end of the heat pipe. Thus, the heat accumulated in the display device can be dissipated rapidly and with no noise, so that the projector can be operated more silently. Also, the life span of the display device is increased.
