In an organic light emitting diode display, a plurality of sub-pixels sharing a select scan line that extends in a row direction forms a unit pixel, and the plurality of sub-pixels are arranged in a column direction in the unit pixel. A field is divided into a plurality of subfields, and corresponding one of the plurality of sub-pixels emits light in each of the plurality of subfields.

Display device and driving method thereof

An organic light emitting diode display, and a display panel and driving method thereof are provided. The organic light emitting diode display includes a plurality of data lines for transmitting data signals, a plurality of scan lines for transmitting selection signals, and a plurality of pixel circuits coupled to the data lines and the scan lines. The pixel circuits include at least four emitting elements for emitting light corresponding to amount of an applied current, a light emitting element driver for outputting a data current corresponding to at least one of the data signals, and a switching unit for respectively transmitting the data current to the four emitting elements. In the display, at least two emitting elements of the four light emitting elements are formed in different places.

Organic light emitting diode display and display panel and driving method thereof

A display device according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a pixel driver, first, second, and third light emitting diodes, and first, second, and third switches. The pixel driver outputs a driving current corresponding to a data signal to an output terminal in response to the scan signal. The first, second, and third light emitting diodes emit first, second, and third color lights in response to the driving current respectively. The first, second, and third switches are coupled between the output terminal of the pixel driver and the first, second, and third light emitting diodes respectively. The first, second, and third switches selectively transmit the driving current to the first, second, and third light emitting diodes. Two of light emitting diodes among the first, second, and third light emitting diodes are arranged in a first line, and the remaining one light emitting diode is arranged in a second line different from the first line.

A light emitting display displays an image on a display panel having a plurality of scan lines, a plurality of data lines, and a plurality of pixel circuits. In the light emitting display, one of the plurality of pixel circuits includes a light emitting element having a first electrode and a second electrode, and a current detector. The light emitting display further includes: a current estimator for estimating the amount of current flowing through the light emitting element; a controller for outputting a gamma compensation value; and a data driver for generating a data signal.

A stacked structure of a display device is capable of preventing conductive noise due to signal interference by isolating analog and digital output stages and a ground stage onto different layers. A driving device of an organic light emitting display has a scan driver for applying a plurality of scan signals, a data driver for applying a plurality of data signals, and a controller for providing a gradation voltage to the data driver and a scan signal to the scan driver. The stacked structure includes a ground layer, an analog signal-transmission layer for transmitting an analog signal, a digital signal-transmission layer for transmitting a digital signal and a power supply transmission layer for transmitting a power supply voltage. Each of the layers is formed on a different layer. Further, the stacked structure further includes a first mounting layer at a front of the structure on which circuits are mounted and a second mounting layer at a rear thereof on which circuits are mounted. The stacked structure further includes insulating layers formed between the respective layers to insulate the layers.

An organic electroluminescent display and a driving method thereof are provided, in which the temperature of a panel may be sensed, a power supply voltage corresponding to the sensed temperature may be generated and supplied to a driving transistor. The present invention may provide constant power consumption and brightness even at high temperature by supplying an appropriate power supply voltage that corresponds to the temperature.

Organic electroluminescent display and driving method thereof

An organic electroluminescent display device can compensate for voltage drop of power supply voltage line by asymmetrically arranging a plurality of contact hole for connecting cathode electrodes and cathode power supply line. The organic electroluminescent display device may include first power supply line for supplying power supply voltage to pixels, and second power supply line for supplying voltage to an electrode on the upper side of the pixel (the supply line can include a region superposed on the electrode). The second power supply line may include a plurality of contact holes through which the second power supply line is connected to the electrode. The plurality of contact holes may be asymmetrically arranged with respect to a bisector of the superposition region of the second power supply line and electrode.

Organic electroluminescent display device

A power control apparatus for a display device that measures a power supply voltage and a cathode voltage and adjusts electrical characteristics that deviate from predetermined conditions to satisfy the conditions, thus preventing damage of a panel due to an excessive current and deterioration. The power control apparatus comprises a first power supply line for transmitting a first level of power supply voltage to a pixel; a second power supply line for transmitting a second level of power supply voltage to the pixel; a DC power generator for generating the first level of power supply voltage and the second level of power supply voltage; and an output detecting unit connected to an output of the DC power generator and for measuring a driving current of a display device. The output detecting unit includes an output detecting circuit for detecting the driving current of the display device, and an output control unit for comparing the detection signal of the output detecting circuit and a designated level of power supply voltage to adjust the detected output power to the designated level.

Power control apparatus for a display device and method of controlling the same

A power supply device supplying power to a data driver of a light emission display device. The power supply device includes: an external reference voltage supply supplying an external reference voltage; a reference voltage generator converting external power into a regulated direct current (DC) reference voltage and outputs the regulated DC reference voltage when the external power is changed. A reference voltage selector selects one of the reference voltages output from the external reference voltage supply and the reference voltage generator and outputs a selected reference voltage. A voltage converter converts the regulated reference voltage output from the reference voltage selector into a plurality of internal DC power sources to be supplied to the drivers.
