An auto-focus camera module includes an lens module, an image sensor, a color separation unit, a main processor unit and an image processing unit. The lens module captures an image of object. The image sensor receives the image captured by the lens module. The color separation unit separates the image into red, green and blue colors. The main processor unit calculates MTF values of the sensed image and determines a shooting mode of the AF camera. The image processing unit processes the image according to the MTF values to compensate for any blurring of the image caused by being out of focus. The driving unit drives the lens module to the point of optimal focus on the object according to MTF values.

Auto-focusing camera module and auto-focusing method using same

An auto-focusing camera module includes a lens module, an image sensor, a color separation unit, a main processor unit, an image processing unit and an OIS unit. The lens module captures an image of object. The image sensor senses the image captured by the lens module. The color separation unit separates the image into red, green and blue colors. The main processor unit calculates MTF values of the image and determines a shooting mode of the auto-focusing camera. The image processing unit processes the image according to the MTF values to compensate for blurring of the image caused by being out of focus. The driving unit drives the lens module to focus the image on the image sensor according to MTF values. The OIS unit detects shaking before shooting and drives the lens module to compensate for the detected shaking.

Auto-focusing camera module and imaging method using same

A piezoelectric actuator for driving a lens unit along an optical axis is disclosed. The piezoelectric actuator includes a fixed member, a movable member movably received in the fixed member, a magnet fixed on the fixed member, a metal sheet fixed on the movable member, a piezoelectric member and a circuit board. The movable member includes a contacting portion. The metal sheet is aligned with the magnetic along a direction substantially perpendicular to the optical axis. The metal sheet is made from a material that can be attracted by the magnet and lighter than the magnet. The piezoelectric member is fixed on the fixed member and contacts on the contacting portion of the movable member for driving the movable member to move along the optical axis. The circuit board provides voltages to the piezoelectric member.

Piezoelectric actuator

An actuator includes a base, a stationary frame mounted on the base, a moveable frame received in the stationary frame and supported on the base, a shaft mounted on a side surface of the moveable frame, a magnet, a flexible printed circuit, a piezoelectric motor, and a position sensor. The magnet is mounted on the side surface of the moveable frame and apart from the shaft. The flexible printed circuit is mounted on a sidewall of the stationary frame in an unfolded state. The piezoelectric motor is mounted on the flexible printed circuit and matches with the shaft. The position sensor is mounted on the flexible printed circuit and apart from the piezoelectric motor. The position sensor is configured for detecting the location of the magnet.

Actuator and camera module having same

An exemplary actuator includes a base, a stationary frame mounted on the base, a moveable frame received in the stationary frame and supported on the base when the moveable frame is in a lowest position, and a driving unit received in the stationary frame and supported on the base. The moveable frame includes a frame body and a protrusion outwardly protruding from an outer wall of a corner of the frame body. The driving unit includes two parallel piezoelectric plates and two parallel resilient plates. The piezoelectric plates and the resilient plates are connected to each other end-to-end and cooperatively form a receiving hole therebetween. The protrusion is received in the receiving hole. The two resilient plates apply a preload to opposite side surfaces of the protrusion and retain the protrusion in position in the receiving hole.

An actuator includes a base, a stationary frame mounted on the base, a moveable frame received in the stationary frame and supported on the base, a shaft mounted on a side surface of the moveable frame, a flexible printed circuit, a piezoelectric motor, a first guide pole and a second guide pole. The flexible printed circuit is mounted on a sidewall of the stationary frame facing the shaft. The piezoelectric motor is mounted on the flexible printed circuit and engages with the shaft, and the first and second guide poles prevent any misalignment of the movable frame at any time and allow only axial movement of the movable frame.

An actuator includes a base, a stationary frame mounted on the base, a driving member, a moveable frame, and guide poles. The base includes a plate having an aperture and a ring-shaped protrusion extending from the plate and surrounding the aperture. The driving member includes a piezoelectric motor fixed on the base and a ring-shaped transmission unit having a first end surface and an opposite second end surface. The transmission unit rotatably sleeves on the protrusion. The first end surface contacts the piezoelectric motor. The second end surface defines a wedge-shaped groove. The moveable frame includes a body and a wedge-shaped stripe extending from the body toward the wedge-shaped groove. The moveable frame is supported by the second end surface. The wedge-shaped stripe partially or entirely engages in the wedge-shaped groove. The guide poles extend through the moveable frame.

A lens driving device includes a fixed housing, a movable lens holder movably received in the fixed housing, a base mounted to the fixed housing, a guide rod, and a piezoelectric actuator. The fixed housing has an opening defined at a corner thereof. The lens holder has a through hole formed therein, and the through hole is arranged opposite to the opening, a central axis of the through hole is parallel with an optical axis of the lens. The guide rod extends through the through hole, two ends of the guide rod coupled to the fixed housing and the base. The piezoelectric actuator is fixedly arranged in the opening of the fixed housing and in contact with an outer side surface of the lens holder. The piezoelectric actuator is deformable in itself along the optical axis thereby driving the lens holder to move along the guide rod in the first receiving space.
