A fuel cell separator includes a separator body and porous structure. The porous structure is stacked on a body surface with pores therein to provide a fluid flow path. The body includes: an inlet part having a space into which the fluid is introduced, a reaction region receiving the fluid, and a diffusion part between the inlet part and the reaction region and a passage to provide a path supplying fluid within the inlet part to the reaction region. The porous structure is stacked on a reaction region surface. A first inlet region, provided at the same height as the inlet part in a height direction in a porous structure inlet region facing the diffusion part, is provided closer to a central region of the porous structure than a second inlet region except for the first inlet region in the inlet region of the porous structure facing the diffusion part.

Disclosed is a fuel cell control system including: a fuel cell supplied with each of hydrogen and oxygen and configured to generate electric power by means of a chemical reaction therein; a cooling system having a heat-exchange device capable of exchanging heat with external air, the cooling system being configured such that cooling water circulates therein and exchanges heat with the fuel cell; a temperature sensing unit configured to sense a fuel cell temperature or a cooling water temperature in the cooling system; and a cooling control unit configured to control the cooling system so as to additionally cool the fuel cell when the fuel cell stops generating electric power, if the fuel cell temperature or the cooling water temperature sensed by the temperature sensing unit while the fuel cell generates electric power is equal to or higher than a preconfigured performance degradation temperature.

System and method for controlling fuel cell

A fuel cell includes a separator. A constant amount of air is supplied to the fuel cell irrespective of positions within an air channel, and thus, degradation of the fuel cell is prevented. The separator includes a separator body and a porous structure which has a plurality of pores defined therein to provide a path through which a fluid flows, where the separator body includes: a fluid inlet part having a space into which the fluid is introduced; a reaction region configured to receive the fluid; and a diffusion part which is provided between the fluid inlet part and the reaction region, where the porous structure is stacked on one surface of the reaction region, and the number of pores per unit volume of the porous structure varies in an inlet region.

A method of controlling the driving of a fuel cell system includes: determining whether the fuel cell system enters idle stop in which air supply to the fuel cell stack stops; dropping a DC-link terminal voltage controlled by a DC-DC converter up to a first set voltage by controlling an operation of the DC-DC converter connected to a DC-link terminal outputting generation power of the fuel cell stack at the time of entering the idle stop; and dropping a voltage of the fuel cell stack to reduce an oxide of platinum which is a catalyst of a fuel cell by allowing the anode exhaust gas to flow backward into a cathode of the fuel cell stack by performing the hydrogen purge in an idle stop state of opening the hydrogen purge valve after the voltage of the DC-link terminal drops.

Driving control method of fuel cell system

A system and method of controlling fuel cell system is provided that simultaneously drains condensation and purges hydrogen via single valve. In particular, condensate water is drained by opening a drain-purge valve at a point in time at which a production amount of the condensate water exceeds a capacity of a water trap. An opening time of the drain-purge valve is then determined depending on a hydrogen concentration of an anode side and a target hydrogen concentration after the draining the condensate water. Hydrogen is then purged by maintaining the drain-purge valve in a state in which it is opened for the determined opening time.

Disclosed is a device and method for stacking a fuel cell stack, which enables automated accurate stacking of components constituting the fuel cell stack by using a phosphor coated thereon. Accordingly, when a membrane-electrode assembly (MEA), a separation plate, etc. are automatically stacked in sequence they are coated with phosphor at a predetermined position on each of the MEA, the separation plate, etc. A phosphor sensor is then positioned and configured to automatically determine whether or not the MEA and separator have been accurately stacked by detecting the presence of phosphor on the stacked MEA and separator plate respectively.
