A camera that has an optical unit includes: a base plate; a plurality of openings which is provided on the base plate and each of which has a substantially rectangular opening shape having long sides and short sides; and a plurality of optical components each of which covers any of the plurality of openings. The plurality of openings is disposed to be cyclically placed in one optical path through rotation of the base plate, and is disposed such that a part of a long side of each opening thereof faces a part of a short side of another opening thereof adjacent thereto.

A thermal dye sublimation printer to which an ink ribbon cassette having a function of transmitting and receiving data via wireless communication with a printer main body is attached, is disclosed. The thermal dye sublimation printer includes: communication means that transmits and receives data via wireless communication with an ink ribbon cassette; and control means that acquires management information of the ink ribbon cassette stored in the ink ribbon cassette side via the communication means and controls printing processing based on the acquired management information.

The dimension in an axis line direction of a pin that engages an elongated hole of a brake member of a brake arm is lengthened, thereby penetrating the brake member and extending downward. The extended portion of the pin is made to pass through a cut formed in an edge of a slide chassis.

A cassette casing has a front lid on its front surface side and a shutter plate retreating on the upper surface of the cassette casing in the way of sliding correspondingly with the operation of the front lid being open and retreated from a mouth. In order to prevent a rectangular display label from being fitted on the upper surface which is the passage for movement of the shutter plate of the cassette casing , the edge on a side opposite to the front lid of the shutter plate and the edge of the cassette casing against which that edge of the shutter abuts are each made into a curvilinear configuration to have thereby made the passage for movement of the shutter meander.

Tape cassette

Disclosed is a tape cassette including a cassette shell in which tape reels around which a tape-like recording medium is wound are contained; a mouth portion provided in a front portion of the cassette shell in such a manner as to be opened forwardly, upwardly, and downwardly, the mouth portion being positioned such that part of the tape-like recording medium crosses the front end of the mouth portion; and a front lid, provided on the cassette shell, for covering the front side of the tape-like recording medium; wherein both side portions of the mouth portion of the cassette shell are taken as tape extraction portions opened forwardly; and each of the inner surfaces of outer side surface front portions of the cassette shell, which forms each of the inner surfaces of outer side walls of the tape extraction portions, is formed into a taper surface which becomes wider outwardly as nearing the front end. With this configuration, it is possible to increase the degree of freedom in design of tape extraction guides of a tape drive apparatus, and to loosen the arrangement accuracy of the tape extraction guides.

Disclosed is a tape cassette in which two positioning holes is formed in the back surface of a cassette shell. One of the two positioning holes is formed into a circular shape and the other is formed into a long-hole shape. The positioning hole formed into the long-hole shape is divided into two parts in the major direction of the long-hole. An about half of the long-hole shape is used as a positioning hole and an about remaining half thereof is used as an information detecting (ID) hole for providing various kinds of information. A removable block piece is provided on an opening portion of said ID hole. With this configuration, the ID hole can be surely provided in the tape cassette, even if the tape cassette is miniaturized.

A tape cassette comprising tape reels around which a tape-shaped recording medium is wound, a cassette shell in which the tape reels are accommodated, a mouth portion provided at the front portion of the cassette shell so as to be opened in the forward direction and in the up-and-down direction, a part of the tape-shaped recording medium being located so as to traverse the front end of said mouth portion, a front lid located at the front side of the tape-shaped recording medium, and a back lid which is located at the back side of the tape-shaped recording medium to cover the tape-shaped recording medium and provided to the cassette shell so as to be freely movable in the forward and backward direction, the back lid being moved back to the just back side thereof when a lid-open operation is carried out to expose the tape-shaped recording medium to the outside.

A tape cassette housing having a mouth extending across its front portion and opening downwardly and forwardly is further provided with a laterally centered hole in back of the mouth and a recess in the bottom surface of the cassette housing through which the lower portion of the hole communicates with the mouth, so that, when the cassette housing is operatively positioned on a deck, a light-emitting element on the deck extends into the mouth and directs a light beam parallel to the deck into a lower portion of a prism also mounted on the deck to extend into the recess and hole of the cassette housing. The prism has a reflecting surface which reflects the received light beam upwardly to a radiating portion of the prism in the hole by which the upwardly reflected beam is split into two oppositely directed lateral beams for detecting opposite ends of a recording tape in the cassette housing.

Tape end detection mechanism for tape cassette

A cassette loading mechanism in a recording and/or reproducing apparatus, including a stationary chassis supporting a rotary head drum thereon, and a movable chassis disposed movably with respect to the stationary chassis and supporting a tape cassette. The movable chassis has an unloading position where a magnetic tape is unloaded from the rotary head drum, and a loading position where the magnetic tape is loaded on the rotary head drum. The movable chassis is formed with a recessed portion which receives the rotary head drum when the movable chassis is in the loading position. The recessed portion is bridged by a reinforcing arm to which a flexible circuit board is secured. The reinforcing arm is electrically connected with photosensors for detecting the magnetic tape cassette when the movable chassis shifts into the loading position.

Cassette loading mechanism having a configuration to protect the head

A video tape recorder having a tape tensioning mechanism for tensioning a magnetic tape drawn out of a tape cassette. The tape tensioning mechanism has a tensioning arm rotatably mounted on a movable Chassis, a tensioning pin for contacting the tape to tension the tape when the tape has been loaded in a predetermined tape path, a tightening lever movably mounted on the movable chassis, and a tension spring for urging the tensioning arm in a direction of rotation to bring the tensioning pin into contact with the tape. A pusher is fixedly mounted on a fixed chassis for pushing the tightening lever to tighten the tension spring substantially at the same time that the magnetic tape is loaded in the predetermined tape path. When the magnetic tape is not loaded in the tape path, the tightening lever is released from the pusher to loosen the tension spring.
