A method for determining a source and a transmission path to provide content includes receiving a message comprising at least one of channel information of a link between a request device which requests content download and a central management device, available resource amount information of a candidate device, channel information of a link between the candidate device and the central management device, and channel information of a link between the request device and one candidate device. The method also includes determining a source device and the transmission path for providing the content to the request device using an available resource amount of the candidate device, a data rate of the link between the request device and the central management device, a data rate of the link between the request device and the candidate device, and a data rate of the link between the candidate device and the central management device.

Apparatus and method for determining source device in contents sharing system

An embodiment provides a distributed transcoding method using a plurality of servers. The method includes receiving a request for a first video file from a first terminal. The method also includes segmenting the video file based on a play time of at least portion of the video file and a performance rate of a plurality of second servers. The method also includes transmitting the segmented video file to the plurality of second servers, which includes transmitting the segmented video file of a greater size to the second server having a higher performance among the plurality of second servers and transmitting the segmented video file having a smaller size to the server having a lower performance among the plurality of second servers. Distributed transcoding apparatus and method using multiple servers

According to one embodiment, a scheduling method for load balancing in an electronic device such as a server when performing multiple transcoding operations includes performing a first transcoding operation in order to transmit at least one moving image file to a first terminal. Disclosed are a digital broadcasting system and a method for transmitting and receiving electronic service guide data in a digital broadcasting system, which communicates applications capable of executing content files downloaded through a file download service. A system and method for Digital Right Management (DRM) of Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB). The system for DRM of DVB includes a DVB transmitting device for transmitting content for the DVB and information on user's rights object for the content, and a DVB receiving device for receiving and storing the transmitted content, and playing the stored data in accordance with the information on the user's rights object. A sneak post view problem occurring during the DVB is solved, and thus the digital rights for the DVB content are efficiently protected. In solving the sneak post view problem, the existing rights object and the construction of the security association database can be used, without adding a separate construction.

A device and method for communicating voice data in packet form in a mobile communication system. In the packet voice data communication method, upon generation of voice data, a packet voice channel is assigned, and an active state is entered where packetized voice data is transmitted on the voice channel. If there is no voice data for a predetermined time period while in the active state, the assigned voice channel is released, and an inactive state is entered where no voice data is transmitted.
