An image forming apparatus to execute user authentication includes an input unit through which user information is input, and an account management unit to manage an account information database. The account information database stores user information corresponding to functions of the image forming apparatus. The image forming apparatus further includes a user authentication unit to execute user authentication based on the user information input through the input unit by using the account information database, and a display unit to display a user interface where a function corresponding to the input user information is activated, in response to a result of the authentication.

A system implementing a method of providing a security data has a requesting image forming device receiving an authorization information from a user to authorize the user, and when the user is authorized, requesting a transmission of a list of security data, and at least one responding image forming device, when the transmission of the list of security data is requested, generating the list of security data based on the authorization information to transmit to the requesting image forming device. Therefore, the security data of image forming device from a remote place can be easily obtained.

A toner monitoring network printer system and method of monitoring a toner cartridge thereof. A first network printer includes a communication module to communicate data with terminals through a network and to support communication with a second network printer, a toner residue computing part to compute a toner residue value of a toner cartridge based on a number of pages printed by the first network printer, a memory to store toner cartridge information including the toner residue value computed by the toner residue computing part, and a central processing device to control the communication module to provide the second network printer with the toner cartridge information including the toner residue value computed by the toner residue computing part, and to control the toner cartridge information including the toner residue value provided from a second network printer to be stored in at least one of the memory and the toner cartridge.
