A display device includes a display panel including pixels, a data driver which applies a dithering data voltage to the display panel, and a driving controller which determines whether to perform a dithering operation of applying the dithering data voltage to the display panel based on input image data. The display device alternately changes the dithering data voltage in units of one frame when the dithering operation is performed at a first dithering frequency or a third dithering frequency, and alternately changes the dithering data voltage in units of N frames when the dithering operation is performed at a second dithering frequency.

The controller is further configured to determine an off period ratio for the pixels in units of two or more frame periods in response to the dimming signal. The control signal may be a dimming signal, a low power mode signal, or another type of signal indicative of operation of the display device.

A display device includes a display panel receiving an emission driving signal, and a panel driver driving the display panel in a mode in which the driving frequency is varied. The panel driver includes an emission driving circuit outputting the emission driving signal, a data driving circuit outputting a data signal, and a driving controller. The data driving circuit inverts a polarity of the data signal in units of at least one driving frame in response to a first option signal. The driving controller includes a counting circuit which counts an operation cycle of the emission driving circuit to output a count value, and a first option control circuit which compares the count value with a preset first threshold value and sets the first option signal to an active state or an inactive state according to a comparison result.

A display device includes: a display panel, a data driver, and a scan driver. The data driver outputs data signals during a writing frame and outputs a bias voltage during a holding frame. The data driver includes a plurality of driving chips, and each of the driving chips includes: a gamma voltage generator, a data converter, a main output part for outputting corresponding data signals of the data signals during the writing frame, and a sub-output part for outputting the bias voltage during the holding frame. The gamma voltage generator of a selected driving chip among the plurality of driving chips is electrically connected to the sub-output parts disposed in the plurality of driving chips, respectively.
