An example manager device includes processing circuitry; and a storage device that stores instructions executable by the processing circuitry to: obtain usage data from a plurality of devices, wherein each device of the plurality of devices is associated with one or more device types of a plurality of device types, and wherein each device type of the plurality of device types specifies a usage behavior; store common information based on the usage data; store device type features for a device type based on the usage data corresponding to one or more devices of the plurality of devices associated with the device type; determine a provisioning device type for a first device; determine configuration information for provisioning the first device based on stored device type features associated with the provisioning device type and the common information; and provision the first device based on the configuration information.

Provisioning computing devices

A computing device is described that includes at least one processor, a network interface, and a storage device that stores instructions executable by the at least one processor to obtain a usage profile generated by at least applying a machine learning model to historical feature usage information of the computing device collected while the computing device was wirelessly connected to a companion computing device. The instructions may further cause the one or more processors to determine a timeout value based on the usage profile. The instructions may further cause the one or more processors to initiate a connection to a network using the network interface responsive to determining that the computing device is no longer wirelessly connected to the companion computing device and after an amount of time specified by the timeout value has elapsed.

Techniques for wired and wireless charging of electronic devices are provided. An example of a method for charging a device according to the disclosure includes receiving a signal from a power source with an electronic circuit, such that the electronic circuit includes a synchronous rectifier comprising a first phase leg and a second phase leg, utilizing the first phase leg to implement synchronous rectification and the second phase leg to implement a single phase buck converter when the signal is a wireless signal received from the power source, utilizing the first phase leg and the second phase leg to implement a multi-phase buck converter when the signal is received from a wired power source, and providing an output signal with the electronic circuit.

Techniques for providing wired and wireless charging to a device are provided. An example of an apparatus for receiving power from a wired power supply and a wireless power supply according to the disclosure includes a wireless power receiver configured to receive power from the wireless power supply, a direct current input circuit configured to receive power from the wired power supply, a control circuit operably coupled to the wireless power receiver and the direct current input circuit and configured to determine a power transfer capability for each of the wired power supply and the wireless power supply, and select the wireless power receiver from the wireless power supply or with the direct current input circuit from the wired power supply to receive power based on the power transfer capabilities.

Smart priority detection for wired and wireless charging

Techniques for charger-device pairing for recharge warnings are described. In one or more implementations, a battery of a device is determined to require charging based on a state of charge of the battery. In response to this determination, a message is communicated via a local network from the device to a charger that was previously paired with the device. The message includes a request for the charger to generate a first alert indicating that the charger is available to charge the battery of the device. In addition, the device provides a second alert indicating that the battery of the device requires charging.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for a voltage controlled charge pump and battery charger. Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for operating a voltage controlled charge pump. The method includes selectively opening and closing a plurality of switches based on a voltage on a feedback path. The plurality of switches are coupled between a voltage input terminal and a voltage output terminal. A first capacitor is coupled between at least a first switch and a second switch of the plurality of switches. A second capacitor is coupled to the voltage output terminal. The feedback path is coupled to at least one of the voltage output terminal, the first capacitor, and the second capacitor.

An apparatus for receiving wireless power is provided. The apparatus a communication circuit configured to transmit a first indication of a first wireless charging category associated with the apparatus. The communication circuit is further configured to receive an indication of a wireless charging class of a power transmit unit (PTU). The communication circuit is further configured to transmit a second indication of a second wireless charging category associated with the apparatus based on the wireless charging class of the PTU being compatible with a higher wireless charging category than the first wireless charging category. The apparatus further comprises a coupler configured to receive a level of wireless power corresponding to the second wireless charging category. The higher wireless charging category indicates an ability to receive a greater amount of wireless power than the first wireless charging category.

Method and apparatus for varying a wireless charging category of a wireless power receiver in wireless charging applications

Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to methods and apparatus for limiting the power drawn by a battery charger based on monitoring of the input voltage and input current supplied to the battery charger from a power supply. In certain aspects, a method generally includes sensing an output voltage of the power supply, wherein the output voltage of the power supply is variable. The method further includes sensing an output current of the power supply. The method further includes providing the output voltage and output current to a battery charger. The method further includes generating a control signal indicative of a scaling of the output current based on a scaling factor, wherein the scaling factor is based on the output voltage. The method further includes providing the control signal to the battery charger to control the output current supplied by the power supply to the battery charger.

Devices and methods for controlling a power supply of a wireless power transmitter based on the request of a wireless power receiver are disclosed. One embodiment provides a wireless power receiver. The wireless power receiver includes a power receiver circuit configured to receive power from a wireless power transmitter at a level sufficient to power or charge a load. The wireless power receiver also includes a processor circuit configured to adjust a level of the received power being provided to the load based on a change in a level of received power to be requested to the wireless power transmitter. The processor circuit is further configured send to the wireless power transmitter the request to change the level of the received power to a first different level.

Devices and methods for controlling transmitter power supply based on wireless receiver request

Systems and methods for converting voltages between different voltage levels in a receiver are disclosed. In an aspect, a wireless power receiver apparatus for charging a chargeable device is provided. The apparatus includes a plurality of receive antennas disposed on a cover of the chargeable device, wherein at least one of the plurality of receive antennas is configured to wirelessly receive power according to a wireless charging protocol different from at least one other of the plurality of receive antennas. The apparatus includes a switching circuit disposed on the cover and configured to receive the wireless power from at least one of the plurality of receive antennas and selectively provide a respective voltage from a corresponding one of the plurality of receive antennas across an output configured to be connected to an input of the chargeable device.

An apparatus for receiving wireless power is provided. The apparatus comprises a coupler configured to receive a first amount of wireless power via a wireless field generated by a wireless power transmitter. The apparatus comprises a sensor circuit configured to measure the first amount of wireless power. The second section is configured to be movable with respect to the first section while remaining both electrically coupled and physically coupled to the first section to change an effective area of the wireless power resonator.

Embodiments include devices and methods for navigating an unmanned autonomous vehicle (UAV) based on a measured magnetic field vector and strength of a magnetic field emanated from a charging station. A processor of the UAV may navigate to the charging station using the magnetic field vector and strength. The processor may determine whether the UAV is substantially aligned with the charging station, and the processor may maneuver the UAV to approach the charging station using the magnetic field vector and strength in response to determining that the UAV is substantially aligned with the charging station. Maneuvering the UAV to approach the charging station using the magnetic field vector and strength may involve descending to a center of the charging station. The UAV may follow a specified route to and/or away from the charging station using the magnetic field vector and strength.

Systems and methods for converting voltages between different voltage levels in a receiver are disclosed. In an aspect, a wireless power receiver apparatus for charging a chargeable device is provided. The wireless power receiver apparatus for charging a chargeable device can include a receive antenna configured to wirelessly receive power at a level sufficient for charging the chargeable device. The wireless power receiver apparatus can also include converter circuitry. The converter circuitry can be coupled to the receive antenna. The converter circuitry can be configured to receive an input voltage derived from the wirelessly received power. The converter circuitry can also be configured to produce an output voltage that is scaled to a value relative to the input voltage based on a relationship between the input voltage and a first voltage level threshold.
