A photothermographic material comprising: a transparent support; and a photosensitive layer comprising a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a thermal developer and a binder, wherein the photosensitive silver halide comprises silver iodide in a ratio of 5% by mole or more, the non-photosensitive organic silver salt comprises silver behenate in a ratio of 30% by mole or more and less than 80% by mole, and the binder has a glass transition temperature of 45&#xb0; C. or more.

Silver halide photographic material and method for processing the same

A chemically sensitized silver halide photographic emulsion comprising silver halide grains, at least 70% of the projected surface area of all the silver halide grains being constituted by tabular grains having an aspect ration of at least 3, wherein at least 0.5 millimoles of a sensitizing dye and 0.5 to 5.0 millimoles of at least one silver halide adsorbing substance other than a sensitizing dye per mole of the silver halide are introduced in the emulsion preparation stage and are present during chemical sensization of the silver halide.

A process for treating a tabular silver halide emulsion is disclosed comprising the steps of subjecting the tabular silver halide emulsion to reduction sensitization and to sulfur sensitization or selenium sensitization and/or gold sensitization in the presence of a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound which forms a complex with silver during the manufacture of the tabular silver halide emulsion, said tabular emulsion having a grain size distribution such that grains having an average aspect ratio of not lower than 3.0 constitute at least 50% of the total projected area of all of the silver halide grains. The present invention provides (1) a method for preparation of a photographic silver halide emulsion containing tabular silver halide particles having a particle diameter larger than the particle thickness by three times or more, wherein least one oxidizing agent selected from a hydrogen peroxide, a salt of a peroxy acid and an ozone is added to the emulsion before the termination of chemical ripening thereof and then a reducing agent is added thereto, and (2) a silver halide photographic material which has at least one or more layers comprising a tabular silver halide particle-containing emulsion wherein tabular silver halide particles are those prepared by method (1). A light-sensitive material is disclosed, comprising a support having thereon at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer, wherein at least one layer containing at least one of a mordant and a dye is provided on at least one side of the support, and at least one layer which is provided on the same side of the layer containing the mordant and dye contains a water-soluble ionic polymer as an agent for reducing color remaining.
