The present invention provides highly injectable, long-lasting hyaluronic acid-based hydrogel dermal filler compositions which are particularly advantageous for correction of fine lines in the face.

Dermal filler compositions for fine line treatment

Dermal filler hydrogel compositions, methods of making them, and methods of using them to treat soft tissue conditions, such as wrinkles, are provided. The compositions contain a crosslinked hyaluronic acid-based polymer and one or more additional ingredients, and are stable to sterilization by heat and/or pressure treatment. The additional ingredients include vasoconstrictive agents, antioxidant agents, such as a ascorbic acid agents, and/or anesthetic agents.

Stable hydrogel compositions including additives

The current invention provides methods, as well as compositions useful in such methods, involving application of energy to a tissue of interest to generate a liquefied sample comprising tissue constituents so as to provide for rapid tissue sampling, as well as qualitative and/or quantitative detection of analytes that may be part of tissue constituents (e.g., several types of biomolecules, drugs, and microbes). Determination of tissue composition can be used in a variety of applications, including diagnosis or prognosis of local as well as systemic diseases, evaluating bioavailability of therapeutics in different tissues following drug administration, forensic detection of drugs-of-abuse, evaluating changes in the tissue microenvironment following exposure to a harmful agent, and various other applications.

Methods of tissue-based diagnosis

Disclosed are kits for at least partly liquefying tissue. The kit may include a liquefaction promoting medium (LPM). The LPM may include a non-ionic surfactant; a zwitterionic surfactant; and an abrasive material. The kit may include instructions. The instructions may direct a user to treat a tissue of a living subject by: applying the LPM together with the abrasive material to the tissue of the living subject; and transmitting energy to the tissue of the living subject through the abrasive material in the presence of the LPM effective to cause at least partial dissolution of one or more components of the tissue of the living subject.

System, method and devices for tissue-based diagnosis

Described are devices, methods and systems for applying energy and/or a liquefaction promoting medium to a tissue of interest to generate a liquefied tissue sample. The liquefied tissue sample may be removed from the tissue of interest. Also described are compositions of the liquefaction promoting medium that may facilitate liquefaction, preserve liquefied tissue constituents, and/or enable delivery of molecules into tissues. The sample may include tissue constituents to provide for rapid tissue sampling, tissue decontamination as well as detection of analytes. One or more drugs may be delivered through or into the tissue of interest. Determination of tissue composition in the liquefied tissue sample can be used, e.g., for diagnosis or prognosis of diseases, evaluating bioavailability of therapeutic agents in different tissues following administration, forensic detection of drugs-of-abuse, evaluating changes in the tissue microenvironment following exposure to a harmful agent, and the like.

System, method and device for tissue-based diagnosis

Tissue solubilizing apparatuses are provided. The apparatuses may be useful to solubilize tissue, including skin, mucosal membrane, and other tissue. The apparatuses may be further useful to preserve and recover analytes contained within the solubilized skin, mucosal membrane, and other tissue.

Apparatus for solubilizing tissue

Tissue solubilizing compositions are provided. The compositions comprise 3-(decyl dimethyl ammonio) propane sulfonate and polyethylene glycol dodecyl ether, such as tetraethylene glycol dodecyl ether. The compositions may be useful to solubilize tissue, including skin, mucosal membrane, and other tissue. The compositions may be further useful to preserve and recover analytes contained within the solubilized skin, mucosal membrane, and other tissue.
