A battery pack has multiple wall-shaped projecting portions, which are provided on side surfaces of battery cells perpendicular to a layer direction X, extend in a flow direction of cooling fluid and arranged in a direction perpendicular to the flow direction of the cooling fluid, to form fluid passages between neighboring battery cells. It further has multiple enlarged projecting portions, which are provided at intermediate portions of the wall-shaped projecting portions extending in the flow direction of the cooling fluid and brought into contact with the neighboring battery cells to receive action force therefrom. An outer dimension of the enlarged projecting portions in the direction, in which the multiple wall-shaped projecting portions are arranged, is made larger than a thickness dimension of the wall-shaped projecting portions.

Clearance holding portions for holding a clearance between the adjacent plate fins are spaced from side edges of louvers by a predetermined distance in a direction perpendicular to a flowing direction of air and disposed at an upstream side of tubes in the flowing direction of the air. In this way, air flowing between the adjacent plate fins flows through the louvers without being disturbed by the clearance holding portions, so that an effect of the louvers for improving the heat exchange performance can be maintained sufficiently.

A cooling apparatus for use in a vehicle is provided in which the cooling water of the water-cooled internal combustion engine is guided into a first portion of the radiator and the cooling water of another water-cooled apparatus such as a water-cooled innercooler of a super charger is guided into a second portion of the radiator. The first radiator portion and the second radiator portion can be selectively fluidly connected so that cooling water from one radiator portion can assist cooling in the other radiator portion.

The condenser is mounted in front of radiator by means of a mounting shroud, which includes a tubular portion for covering over an outer periphery of the condenser, a pair of vertical mounting walls provided on an inner periphery of the tubular portion, and a pair of mounting leg portions formed on an outer periphery of the tubular portion. The vertical mounting walls are securely fastened to upper and lower brackets of the condenser in a condition wherein the former contact with the latter, and the lower mounting leg portions are fitted in engaging recesses of a lower tank of the radiator while the upper mounting leg portions are securely fastened to an upper tank of the radiator. The tubular portion of the mounting shroud serves also as a wind introducing duct which prevents heated air having passed the radiator from coming around to the front of the condenser again.

A vehicle provided with an internal combustion engine and an air conditioning system for a vehicle passenger cabin. A condenser of the air conditioning system is arranged in front of a radiator of the engine in an engine compartment of the engine. A duct is arranged between the condenser and the radiator for preventing the air passing the radiator from being returned forward P. A first damper, which is normally closed is provided in the duct, but is opened when the engine temperature is high to provide a flow of air, by-passing the condenser, directly into the radiator.

Alternatively, the diffusion treatment under heat is combined with a rolling processing step.

Copper fin material for heat-exchanger and method of producing the same

In order to cool an engine effectively, an engine oil temperature is detected by an oil temperature sensor. When the engine oil temperature is above a predetermined valve, the cooling fluid being introduced into the engine is divided into two streams. One stream is introduced into a cylinder head and the other stream is introduced into a cylinder block. The amount of cooling fluid being introduced into the cylinder block is controlled according to the engine oil temperature.

Cooling of an internal-combustion engine

A cooling device for an internal combustion engine has an additonal water pump and a bypass conduit which bypasses the additional water pump. When the amount of heat radiation of the radiator is insufficient, the additional water pump is driven by an electric motor. When the additional water pump is not necessary, the bypass conduit is opened, so that the cooling fluid bypasses the additional pump.

A radiator cap sets on a filler neck of an automotive radiator tank. The radiator cap has an inner cap rotatably connected with an outer cap, a pressure valve operatively connected with the inner cap in such a manner that the pressure valve can move vertically so that the pressure valve opens the filler neck when the pressure within the radiator tank increases up to a predetermined pressure. The radiator cap further includes a coil spring provided between the inner cap and the pressure valve for biasing the pressure valve toward the filler neck. Since the connecting point between the coil spring and the pressure valve is lower than the connecting point between a sealing portion of the pressure valve and the filler neck, a rotating moment which returns the pressure valve horizontally is generated when the pressure valve is inclined, preventing the pressure valve from inclining. The pressure valve of the present invention can maintain its position horizontally and can open the filler neck always at the predetermined pressure.

Automotive radiator cap

A radiator for an automotive engine has a filler neck having a coolant pass therein. The filler neck has both an inner tubular member and an outer tubular member so that the coolant pass is formed between the inner surface of the outer tubular member and the outer surface of the inner tubular member. The coolant pass is connected with a connecting pipe in order to introduce the coolant within the coolant pass toward the connecting pipe. The coolant introduced into the connecting pipe is, then, flows toward a reserve tank. Since all coolant flowing toward the connecting pipe is orientated its vector while passing through the coolant pass, the coolant can be introduced into the connecting pipe smoothly.

A cooling fan for automobiles which is drivable by an electric motor includes a plurality of blades, each having distal and proximal ends inclined at attachment angles larger than an attachment angle at which an intermediate portion of the blade is inclined, thereby reducing noises produced by the cooling fan.
