There is disclosed a polyester support, which has the dimensional change with the lapse of time after heating which corresponds to heat development, in a range of from &minus;0.03% to &plus;0.05% both in the longitudinal direction and the transverse direction. There is also disclosed a low-heat-shrinkage film, which has a dimensional change immediately after a heat treatment, which corresponds to a heat development, in a range of from 0% to &plus;0.05% in both the longitudinal direction and the transverse direction. There is also disclosed a heat-development photographic light-sensitivity material, which comprises the support or the film as a support.

A photographic material comprises a support of a polyester film, a first subbing layer provided thereon, a second subbing layer comprising gelatin provided on the first subbing layer and a photographic layer provided on the second subbing layer. The first subbing layer is a layer of polyurethane latex cured with an epoxy compound or a dichloro-s-triazine derivative, otherwise the first subbing layer comprises a polymer which has breaking elongation of not more than 300% or stress at 100% elongation of not less than 130 kg/cm.sup.2.

A silver halide photographic material is described composed of a polyester support having a hydrophilic colloidal layer containing a polymer latex on at least one side thereof, wherein the polyester support has a subbing layer having a thickness of 0.3 .mu.m or more and containing a vinylidene chloride copolymer composed of at least (1) from 70 to 99.9% by weight of a vinylidene chloride monomer and (2) from 0.1 to 5% by weight of a vinyl monomer having at least one carboxyl group, the subbing layer further containing a compound represented by formula (I) or (II): ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, and R.sup.4 each represents a chlorine atom, a hydroxyl group, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an alkylthio group, --OM (wherein M represents a monovalent metal atom), --NR'R', or --NHCOR'' (wherein R', R', and R'' each represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, or an aryl group); Q.sup.1 and Q.sup.2 each represents --O--, --S--, or --NH--; L represents a divalent linking group selected from an alkylene group, an arylene group, and a combination thereof; and l and m each represents 0 or 1. The silver halide photographic material has excellent dimensional stability and improved adhesion between a support and a photographic layer provided thereon.

A photographic material comprising a hydrophobic support is described, having thereon a first subbing layer formed of a polymeric compound and a second subbing layer comprising a hydrophilic layer containing water-soluble methyl cellulose having a degree of substitution less than 2.5 or water-soluble polyvinyl alcohol having a degree of hydrolysis less than 97 mole % on the first subbing layer.
